Single Women Against Bush
The Nation ^ | 02/06/2005 | Katrina vanden Heuvel

A new report recently highlighted in Ruy Teixeira's valuable Public Opinion Watch shows that one of the bright spots for the Democrats in the 2004 election was their performance among single women. The study, done by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner for Womens' Voices/Women Vote, showed that the "marriage gap is a defining dynamic in today's politics, eclipsing the gender gap, with marital status a significant predictor of the vote, independent of the effects of age, race, income, education or gender."

As Teixeira writes, the new research shows that unmarried women, who voted overwhelmingly for Kerry, "are social and economic progressives advancing a tolerant set of values." One more reason to oppose marriage. (Click here to check out the full report.)

Yes, the left thinks that opposing marraige and family values would be good for America becuase more single women vote democrat. Not a single thing about what they say is good for the country. That is why they lose.

"And they both have more hair in their armpits than I do. Yuck!"

By the hair of their arm pits shall ye know them. Femi-nazi's have it. Aging hippies braid it.

Further proof that women should NOT be allowed to vote.

Damn. I'm a single gay gal...conservative, love my boy W. Don't believe in gay marriage either. I get very strange looks from my (very liberal) co-workers when ranting about libs.

This may be a strong demographic group for Democrats, but most people I know in this demographic (single women) are doing everything possible to leave that group for the married women group.

Much of this is due to the fact that most women's magazines are overwhelmingly liberal. Pick up any issue of Cosmo, Glamour, Self or Madamoiselle the issue is either devoted to how the Bush administration is going to take away every right to women, not just the so-called right to abortion, or they have some celebrity espousing their "expert" opinion on what Republicans are doing to the country.
Many may scoff at these magazines, but go over to any twentysomething's apartment, and there will be at least one issue of Cosmo lying around.

BTW, I'm also a single female and almost all of my friends voted for W. I can only think of one or two who went for Kerry.
