Wow! I love classic Priest with Halford but must admit to being a little surprised at finding a posting about them on a conservative website. Maybe, as a libertarian, I have made a hasty generalization about my fellow travelers! My favorites were Roca Rola and Defenders of the Faith. Slightly off-topic, I've often thought that Soundgarden's "My Wave" should be the libertarian anthem (with appologies to Ayn Rand).

The band I played in used to play "The Ripper" back in the late 70's.

Troo Metal is fairly conservative/libertarian ... a lot of arse kicking and no whining!

I loved Judas Priest in the early 80's...until Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus and the San Francisco thrash scene emerged and kind of buried the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (or NWOBHM, as the magazines used to call it). Screaming for Vengeance was a great album, but Point of Entry kind of put me off the band.

And, unfortunately, they made some of the stupidest videos the world has ever seen. Very Spinal Tap-like. ;)

One of my favorite albums in high school was "Sad Wings of Destiny." Being quite the wag, I referred to it as "Sad Wings of Dentistry."

Absolutely. Lots of metal and harder rock guys are right-wing for sure...

And as far as Rob Halford being gay, he just "is," he doesn't feel the need to be part of the socialist/liberal/whiner/gay agenda group.
