Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

It's a wireless security camera - well two of them. When I had it set up live on the internet, I put the TV that I was using as a monitor for the camera next to my computer. Then I pointed my computer cam at the TV screen. I put the computer camera online with Tevio or something like that, I'll have to find it on my other computer. Then I just logged into it with the password from the computers at work. I had all the computers logged into it so we could all keep an eye on the mare.
We would sure keep you busy posting pictures :)
OK - that's what we've got to do! ecurbh can give you webspace! He did a live cam for our wedding so the Hobbit Hole could watch!

Just remember you aren't talking to someone who is real computer literate here :) Directions have to be very simple.
We'll give it a try.... it took a little bit of trial and error with the wedding cam, but it worked eventually!
Okay, I'm game to try it. First question now. How do I get a cord for my cam longer than what I have. I need to run it to another room now. Can I splice one or something?
There is a limitation on how long USB cables can be. they don't come longer than about 8-10 feet. We bought a cable called a USB BOOSTER cable that gave is more like 25 feet of cord.
Okay, that's what I need to get then. Would Radio Shack have that?
