Good morning!

Yikes, what a weekend! I need another weekend so's I can recuperate...

The office is painted!!! We put a third and final coat on last night, so tonight I can remove all the masking tape, clean up any spatters, and put all the furniture back. Yeesh, that was a lot of the work. I did most of the actual painting myself, though Jim helped with the last bit last night. The edging about did me in...so tedious, and since much of it was a little above my head even when I stood on a chair, my arms are kinda sore. Yeah, I'm weak.

The end result is far from perfect, especially examined up close, but it's also better than I hoped for, so I'm very happy! It looks really nice. It's about the same color as OTs computer room, BTW. I like it! I'll enjoy it for as long as it's mine, much as I hope that isn't long...

Also worked all over the rest of the house, though in bits and pieces and it's kind of hard to see that much has been done since most of it was stuff like reorganizing the cabinets and sorting through small pockets of junk that had accumulated on the backs of shelves and things. I'm getting to the point where I almost automatically chuck things without a second thought. I'm dangerous. ;-) I'm slowly paring down the books, but those are the toughest. I think I'll get rid of all the paperback classics I have since those are easily replaceable or borrowable from the library, but all my mystery paperbacks...I dunno if I can find the older ones again. Same goes for a lot of the hardbacks, which of course are heavy and take up space. If, when I come to pack the van in the end, I have to choose between clothes and books...well, it'll be hard...

I'm really still stressed about the realtor coming tomorrow! I still have so much to do! I know it's not like she's the prospective buyer, but I still wish I was closer to ready. I have the office to move back, more organizing to do, need to defrost the freezer, and plenty more cleaning. *sigh* But it's coming. Just wish I had a few extra days, but at the same time I don't wish for 'em 'cause I want to get this started!

Starting back on the diet today. I've stalled long enough. I actually started for ONE DAY before I got sick, and then everything kinda fell apart. Now I'm gonna do it for real. Went grocery shopping yesterday for healthy stuff, so I have no excuses. I still have at least ten more pounds to go...sure would be nice if I could at least lose five before the wedding.

On the ancestory thing, I don't believe I have a single drop of French blood. Norwegian, Scots, Dutch...a bit of English (the Nottinghams on my Mom's side), but that's about it.

Congratulations, Rosie! So when's the realtor coming to look?

Remember, it's cheaper to ship a box of clothes than the same sized box of books. Let me know what mysteries you're referring to; if they're Agatha Christie, I've probably got 'em but outside her and Conan Doyle my mysteries are pretty thin.

Wow you have been busy. The diff between hardback and paper back is only size. They are about the same density so the really don't make a box weigh more, you can just fit fewer in it. You probably already know this but be sure to pack them in SMALL boxes. The only thing heavier than a box of books is a box of rocks. Mom has both so I should know. She use to collect them and still has some nice pieces. It was alway funny seeing movers pick up a box and going "ugh, what is in this? Rocks?" We point the the label that clearly said, 'Rocks'. heh. The nice thing about clothes and books is the boxes can stack plenty high. If they are the limiting factor for truck packing you must have a ton of clothes (A ton of books is to be expected of a Tolkien fan).
