SUV Plows Into Convenience Store
7-Eleven Clerk Injured In Apparent Attack
POSTED: 5:51 am PST January 24, 2005
UPDATED: 9:41 am PST January 24, 2005
SEATTLE -- The driver of a sport utility vehicle plowed into a convenience store in West Seattle Sunday night in what witnesses said was a deliberate act, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported. The man behind the wheel drove the SUV through the front of a 7-Eleven story on Erskine Way Southwest and repeatedly plowed into the store, leaving it in shambles and injuring a clerk.
The clerk, who was working alone in the store, was taken to a hospital. There was no information on the clerk's condition because of privacy laws. The driver of the SUV backed up and fled. Police said parts of the store are likely still lodged in the vehicle. The store is closed indefinitely until repairs can be made.

Those SUVs really need to stop attacking people! They really have a mind of their own.

This must be a result of poor customer service.

Actually, this is different from "when SUVs attack" stories, in that the article states: "The driver of a sport utility vehicle", "The man behind the wheel drove the SUV" and "The driver of the SUV" -- it actually blames the driver, not the SUV, a fairly rare occurrence these days.

Well its been going on long enough that a really interesting headline might read: Volvo Swerves into Cornfield or Alternate Fuel Vehicle Slams into Credit Union or Hybrid Tech Car Rolls Over on Freeway.

Although I agree that the mention of the driver is most likely an oversight on the part of the 'reporter' who is likely suffering a reprimand as a result of this inclusion, I would suggest that due to the fact that the headline clearly places blame upon the SUV, we can infer that the writer meant to lay the blame on the SUV entirely and we shouldn't discount the article as being in the "When SUV's Attack" series.
According to the Left, intentions are everything and therefore it's essential that we lay blame exclusively upon the SUV and not the driver, as the headline urges us to :-)

What kind of SUV does Kerry own??????My recollection is that he doesn't own an SUV, his 'family' does.
That point aside, are you suggesting that this is sKerry's SUV out on a rampage? That it kidnapped a defenseless human and forced the human to ride on this tour of destruction and mayhem?
Sounds about as plausible as his campaign :-)

Of course, the obvious counter-argument is that the reporters don't write the headlines... :)

Of course, the obvious counter-argument is that the reporters don't write the headlines... :)So, you're suggesting then that it was the SUV that wanted to take credit for the attack? Sort of like Hamas eagerly taking credit for a bombing of a pizza parlor or a bus?
This is intriguing....as I understand it from the posts so far, sKerry's SUV decided to go on a murderous rampage of destruction and mayhem. En route, it kidnapped a defenseless human and held the human in it's clutches during the attack. Afterwards, the SUV determined (likely via OnStar telemetry) that the reporter was going to give credit for the attack to the driver. The SUV couldn't tolerate this! So it either hacked into the KIRO TV website and changed the title or it phone the editor and threatened the editor with a similar attack on his/her home if he/she didn't give full credit for the attack to the SUV!
And so we are left with the SUV still on the loose with the kidnapped human still in it's evil clutches.....

I had no idea those SUVs were that crafty. I think I'll be extra nice to mine on the drive home tonight so that it doesn't get any untoward ideas...
