Well, that's a fair criticism. It's far faster and more violent than soccer, and I do marvel at the skill of the players to handle the puck as well as skate backwards.

But for pure violence, we have the NFL and NASCAR. I just suspect that most diehard hockey fans played the game at same point in their lives. I could be wrong.

I never played but if you've been to the arena, you can become a fan. Hockey is best in person.

The best televised game is football.

College basketball isn't bad on TV but it's a trip in the field house.

I enjoy baseball on the radio.

I also enjoy the NBA on the radio -- if it is mimed.

If you like watching 13 seconds of action (NFL) followed by 3 minutes of watching guys pick themselves up, huddle up butts out, set themselves at the line of scrimmage, and then prepare for 13 more seconds of "action".

Or, if you like 800 left turns in a row, I guess that could qualify as a sport, but "action"?

I'll stick with hockey.
