Thanks for the reminder. Let's hope this group has less baggage and drama than the last. Well.... maybe not. ; )

Book smarts vs. street smarts... My mom says it's a rare blessing to have both.

One of the 'Street Smarts' (supposedly no college degree) contestants worked for NJ Gov. McGreevy when his coruption scandals were taking place, and also attending the Univ. of VA for 4 years, where she apparently was a mouthy 'minority activist'.

I think you're talking about Tara. She's definately got all the trappings to become the next Omarosa.

Street smarts will win over book smarts.

I usually hate Ping lists and have cancelled out of every one of them, but this one is useful. For one, I don't keep up with TV enough to know when something is coming on (premere), and it isn't one ping every day!

So, to conclude, I don't want to be pinged about the war in Iraq, domestic matters, civil rights, and national security, but I do want to be pinged about the Apprentice!

Go read the bios and you'll find the street folks don't have many accomplishments over the book folks.

As we go along, I predict more book folks get fired earlier, but a book person will win in the end.

I hate to say this, but I think that the Apprentice is past its prime. Too much, too soon. But Donald definitely knows that he needs to do this or people will find a new outlet show.

LOL you have no fear with me. I'm barely able to keep up with the responsibility of a once a week ping!

Don't underestimate the street smarts. A long ago in another part of my life I worked for an international bank in New York City. The people with the books smarts, often with high class lineage, were always asking us commoners how to do certain things. The book smarts were always lunching at the Princeton, Yale, Harvard Clubs, sunning themselves on the roof, or out shopping. The street smarts, on the other hand, had their noses to the grindstone and knew how to handle the emergencies when they occurred. I'm not a gambling person at all but my bet is on the street smarts.

My point is that you need to read the bios. Calling them "book smarts" may be misleading. These aren't people that are just out of school or that have done nothing but school. I think few of them have Ivy league backgrounds.

Likewise, don't overestimate the so-called "steet smarts." These are sometimes people who weren't disciplined enough to go to school and while they've made money they probably could have made a lot more had they gone to school. My sister fits into that category and she'd be the first to tell you this. Her daughter is a senior in HS and where to go to college (not if) is a HUGE decision going on right now.

OK, I'm already rooting against the Boston Polyester Scooby Doo Hippy, the Greasy Unoriginal Bowtie Dork, and the 4 Years at UVA but I'm Street Smarts? McGreevey Apprentice.

The bowtie dude reminds me of Lincoln Chafee or David Boies.

Trump actually said the streetsmarts group had a higher net worth. Interesting.

Street smarts will win over book smarts.

Every time. I am in the IT profession and I have to spend sooo much time unlearning the college kids from their theoretical crap and teaching them TO GET THE JOB DONE.
