westy, i'm having such a good time today watching the eagles. i finally saw the egg in real time.
Well, one good thing about my job.....it makes me feel incredibly normal.
I have to be in court again tomorrow, but this time it's to testify in a civil matter, so the attorney who issued the subpoena has to pay me to be there. Got the check today.
It's raining. Been drizzly and just generally yucky all day. It is supposed to get really nasty later, unless something has changed.
Anything exciting going on?
NOW FOX 8 est
911 Nanny!
I'm watching it.

Yeah, but not all that much.
But so pretty with that fresh snow and sunset light.
I wish they'd zoom out. I remember when you could tell that it was a mountain, now it looks more like a ridge line...
You can't see how high the plume reaches either.
......Westy....
Greetings to all from the wild and windy Pacific Northwest...tried to get online yesterday, but almost as soon as I tried, our power went out, and stayed off for well over 9 hours....I myself had a few trees go down in my yard...luckily, they missed the fence, they missed the house, so someone was watching out for us...
I was so furious that it took so long to get power restored...so today, I called the power company, asking for explanations for why it took so long...our area had thousands of homes without power, all businesses had to shut down, no street lights, and no stop lights, made for dangerous conditions, and it was just all round miserable...
Their explanation was that some trees had fallen down over one of the substations, and major damage to the power station was a result...now BigDom drove around after the power had been out for about two hours, looking at the various substations, that we knew about, to see if the work crews were working...he could find some substations, but they appeared to be untouched by our wild and wooly weather...
So I asked the person on the phone with me, if he could tell me where the local substation was for our area was, and he said that altho he knew where it was, he could not tell me...since 9/11, anyone asking for the locations of power substations, automatically throws up a red flag, that this could be terrorists, trying to locate all the power substations and trying to bomb them all at the same time, thus causing a chaotic situation...gosh, I never thought of that...I asked the man on the phone, if I was now being redflagged, as a possible terrorist...I told him, honestly I am just a little old lady...I had to smile, at the thought that this guy thought I might be a terrorist...
He assured me that I had made a relevant phone call, and made relevant inquiries, so he was not suspicious of me...but as least I found out, that the power company is on the lookout for the terrorists...
So Westy, was it calm up by you, or was a wild and windy and rainy, and nasty like it was here in Olympia...
I called our Andy, up in Seattle to see if he had power, and his power never went off....I told Andy, Big Dom and I were sitting in the dark, getting drunk,(drinking seemed like a good idea under the circumstances)..all Andy could do was laugh and say, "Thats what you get for living in the boonies"....
Ah well, the power outage, lasted from 1pm until well after 10pm...we could have gone into the RV, and gone on the generator, but we figured we would stick it out like all of our fellow neighbors...cold, drunk, and mad...
I know that all folks are following the Terri Shiavo case, and people are falling into different camps, regarding what should and should not be done...its a sad case, and I only hope that Gods will, will be done in the end...
Was glad to hear you have a remedy for power outages, even if it is only warm beer...lol
....Westy....

Snowy day back in Jan. But the eagle carried on...
Goodnight all...

Awwww....poor mama eagle.
Walking into the bar, Mike said to the bartender, "Pour me a stiff one, I just had another fight with the little woman."
"Oh yeah?" said Greg "And how did this one end?"
"When it was over," Mike replied, "she came to me on her hands and knees."
"Really? Now that's a switch! What did she say?"
She said, "Come out from under that bed, you little chicken shit.
Woo-Hoo!!! 6,800! Another notch in my double-ought post belt!
