If that were true I would hope some one more reliable than Randall Terry had reproted this.....he gives the "Right To Life Movement" a bad reputation!

He is all sensation...he makes one curddle with his thumping!

I don't think Terri life will be in vain...I think her story will move many to demand that these corrupted vipers be cleaned out of the dens of Justice!

Why does everyone objsct to granting the same blessed relief to Terri Schiavo?

Because she isn't being "put down" like we put down our cat, Maia. She's being dehydradated and starved to death. We didn't withhold food and water from Maia - she was euthanized.

Another reason - Terri Shiavo wasn't dying until the feeding tube was removed. She isn't on a respirator, so there is no "plug" to be pulled. Food and water isn't "medical treatment" or artificial life support. I just find starving and dehydrating someone to death to be abhorrent. When a person who is terminal is near the end, if they were being fed by mouth, they refuse food and water. If they are getting hydration and nutrition intraveinously, then that is removed. That is not abhorrent or unethical. I just find it utterly abhorrent to stop feeding and giving water to a person who is not dying. It will take Mrs. Shiavo a long time to die, and it won't be a pleasant death. There is an "exit protocol" in place for her, which calls for various drugs to ease her pain and nauseau, as she "exits", supposedly peacefully. This really makes me sick.

HE WAS NINE YEARS OLD AND ACTED MORE LIKE A PUPPY THAN A CAT, IN THE ATTENTION HE DEMANDED. I BAWLED AND SQUALLED ALL DAY. LIKE YOU, WHEN YOU LOST YOUR CAT, I EXPECT TO SEE HIM IN HIS FAVORITE PLACES.

IS IT STRANGE OF ME TO ALREADY BE THINKING OF GETTING ANOTHER KITTEN? I FEEL I JUST NEED ANOTHER CRITTER HERE RUNNING AROUND.

I am so sorry to hear about CC. As we had to do the same for Maia two weeks ago, I certainly know just how you feel. I still am looking for her in her favorite places, and expect to see her when I walk in the door. No, I don't think it is strange to think about getting a kitten. They are great little companions. We're not getting another cat, because we still have two. If another stray wanders up to our door, we won't turn her away, but I'm not going to go looking for one. My condolences.

Want to really know about Terri Schiavo and the Freepers supporting her?
Read this thread. This is the report of her court appointed attorney saying she is brain dead and then the paranoid postings of freeper conspiracy theorists about how he was eeevil, or bought off, or only interested in publicity or how the doctors drugged her before he came. Just total clinical paranoia.

I agree, and that is 100% the fault of the pro-life people who won't allow if to be done in a humane manner.

I think if you read the article I just linked to you sill see that Terri truly is a vegetable. Her cortex is gone. Stopping her food and water is no different from stopping them for a houseplant.

Terri seems to disagree with you.

A houseplant couldn't.

I've followed this case for a year and half. I trust my ability to process information, my moral judgements AND my gut. You know I love you, Swervie, and I respect your opinion on many things, but on this one you are dead wrong.

For many of us, this is more deeply painful than you understand. I am actively trying to keep my mind on other things because what is being done to this woman is so devastatingly wrong that to think too much about it would cause a grief I couldn't bear.

It isn't just about Terri, either. If they successfully murder this woman, we are talking about a societal impact as horrible as abortion, with the potential to be even more deadly. The holocaust of inconvenient people has GOT to stop. Our most basic Constitutional right is the right to life. That "right" is meaningless as long as man legislates for himself the "right to kill," no matter what he calls it.

Bingo.

Swervie is, and indeed all of us are, just one heartbeat away from a disabling event that could leave us fully conscious, yet temporarily unable to communicate.

Whether we are then starved and parched to death, or rehabilitated depends on the outcome of this case.

FOR THE RECORD:

I do NOT want to be starved to death, nor die of thirst, no matter what.

IF my case is TRULY hopeless, AND there is TRULY no HOPE of recovery, AND there are NO loved ones willing to take care of me, an OD of morphine is fine with me.

But not starvation/dehydration.
