Most Chileans won't touch the things...only in the north, near the border with Peru...you can find cuy in Arica, Chile's northern most city.

*chuckle*
Older women tend to be more 'settled in' to who they are as a person.
Since 99.99% of the women my age that I've run across are not worth even looking at let alone speaking to, that leaves those older than I to consider.
I never watched The Graduate either.

The Graduate is worthy of your time.

Dated now, but still worth viewing, imo.

Thanks. Just talked w/the vet. Seems that Maia has diabetes, and is very sick right now. They are sending her out to the emergency clinic since she needs to be watched, and there is no one at the clinic to take care of her. :( We'll call in the morning and see how she is. Vet says that she isn't in imminent danger of dying, but we don't know what kind of prognosis she has. She's 15 1/2, and also has chronic feline renal insufficiency, so she has a lot going on. Poor little old kitty.

Memory

(Daylight, see the dew on a sunflower
And a rose that is fading
Roses wither away
Like the sunflower I yearn to turn my face to the dawn
I am waiting for the day.)

Midnight. Not a sound from the pavement.
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone.
In the lamplight the withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan.

Memory. All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days,
I was beautiful then.
I remember the time I knew what happiness was,
Let the memory live again.

Every street lamp seems to beat a fatalistic warning.
Someone mutters and a street lamp gutters and soon it will be morning.

Daylight. I must wait for the sunrise,
I must think of a new life
And I mustn't give in.
When the dawn comes tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin.

Burnt out ends of smokey days, the stale cold smell of morning.
The street lamp dies, another night is over, another day is dawning.

(Sunlight, through the trees in summer
Endless masquerading
Like a flower as the dawn is breaking
The memory is fading.)

Touch me. It's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun.
If you touch me you'll understand what happiness is.
Look, a new day has begun.

The vet called us last night, and Maia was having a GI bleed, and was bleeding out, nothing really to be done, so we agreed to put her down so she wouldn't suffer any more.
