Found a way to get rid of your squirrels...

Three churches in town were overrun with squirrels.

After much prayer, the elders of the first church determined that the animals were predestined to be there. Who were they to interfere with God's will?

They did nothing, and the squirrels multiplied.

The elders of the second church, deciding that they could not harm any of God's creatures, humanely trapped the squirrels and then set them free outside of town.

Three days later the squirrels were back.

It was only the third church that succeeded in keeping the squirrels away. The elders of this church simply baptized the squirrels and registered them as members of the church.

Now, they only see the squirrels on Christmas and Easter.

What's going on in here?

(Reminds me of the time my Mom caught us playing Monopoly at 2:00 a.m. on a school night.)

His solution became U.S. Patent No. 5,436,830, also known as the Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique, which is, according to the patent, "a technique for eliciting interconnected constructs that influence thought and behavior."

Let me wait for So9 or Nully, or anyone else to 'splain this one to me.

(My hair began to hurt, half-way through this discourse.)

NYC cheers up there.

Good morning folks. We took an excursion into Mexico yesterday. It has been a long time since I was in a border town. The thing that I don't recall from before was the dozens upon dozens upon dozens of dentists who have hung out shingles and advertise dental reconstruction etc. Capitalizing on the older winter population here I suppose. But Yikes. I just don't think so. There are also dozens upon dozens of pharmacies advertising many prescription drugs at low prices. Very worrisome to see antibiotics like Keflex, ampicillin etc. handed out like candy.

It had rained the night before and while streets were dry here, they certainly weren't in Mexico. Made us realize the lack of proper drainage, rain sewer management etc.

There were the usual sidewalk vendors, shops etc. One of the most unusual things I saw was at lunchtime when a man was walking down those crowded streets carrying a large covered pot with a gas burner lighted and burning on the bottom. He had a bottle of hot sauce attached to his belt and I assume it was beans in the pot. Lots of entrepreneurs, but we didn't take advantage of this guys particular wares. We did have a nice lunch and were careful to drink bottled beverages, no ice. Also had some fruit from street vendor which seems to have agreed with us as well (I was having second thoughts as there was yogurt on the fruit.)

Many touristas in the area right now and we had lots of company on the main streets. The customs office coming back over asked everybody passing if they were a US citizen and you had to present a drivers license. That was it. Sigh.

We are off to church services this morning which are held here at the rec hall. There are many, many, many flea markets in the area too and we may take a couple of those in this afternoon.

My dad has his teef done in Tijuana. He pays less paying full freight than he would in copays for a US dentist.

The guy does good work, and is affordable. Why not?

How did he pick one? If I had recommendations from others about a particular Mexican dentist, that might be a different story.

But just walking into one of their little shops, or even further, being coaxed in by the hawker standing at the door, just like at the restaurants...Naaaa, I don't think so.
