Grew up in New Hyde Park and stayed there for college- Saint Johns in Jamaica.
No surf, but then the Hamptons were a favorite place to go watch submarines race back in those days!
Ah, yes, a loaf of bread, a jug of wine and a rubber novelty item.

I am still a practicing attorney and really love teaching. If my attitude offends, well, I do have a fall back career, and I do have the same academic freedom that the lib teachers have. In fact, one of my colleagues in the Soc. Stud. dept. who is a close friend is one of the most liberal teachers in the school, and we team taught and showed the kids that you can disagree without being insulting and losing friendships.
