The runway was in a canyon running from the beach into the mountains...Was most always a strong wind blowing down the canyon...You came in over the ocean, all trimed up for the wind, and if it stopped blowing, like it did at times, was real easy to make a big splash...Especially if you lost an engine about then... Gee, sounds like I didn't miss anything by not ever going THERE! :)

"I usually check in with the "Door" when I get to my container/office in the morning and check out the news" Container....yeah, that's the word I needed for my "office." I mean to tell you, we are "cozy" in there.

that bridge is only for the sonic rail system. that was also in the documentary....very interesting. I believe they enlisted the help from Holland, maybe, in determing wave strength... and I think maybe another country for wind shear/wave strength on bridges erected in hurricane/tsunami type of tides, etc.

I figure this will be me in retirement on my little rancho in Idaho:

I'm planning something similar in Texas, but a darker colored horse. White cars and horses are too hard to keep clean.

I just saw you pinged me to this game...I will look at it later...looks like fun (but MY bridge would probably fall down, lol).

I think on this same program, they also discuss the dike/levies in Holland and Venice, and the underground type of system they need to have there for holding back waves from flooding their land......but I'm almost positive they also were discussing how what Holland has done in their underwater fortification was at least used in what the Japanese had to do for these bridges....and it's much larger that what the picture gives it credit. I believe they used some sort of huge mechanization elevator system going beneath the water...it's been awhile since I watched that program...I don't know if it was on the History Channel or Discovery.

Hi, sl, that's a great pic of you there.....relaxing!! : )

"Gran has really done super in all of her caricatures" She sure has. I will have to save them all before her contrary picture storage thingy breaks.
