.....Westy.....

Hay gang..haven't been around much...Ozzie has been having some tests. He is going in for a big bypass surgery on Thrusday, He has had no symptoms but has had fatigue in the legs which led to a doppler ultrasound which led to a nuclear stress test which led to an angiogram which led to the bypass....he has built strong capillaries which have carried the load but he has one artery that is totally clogged, another that is 90% and the third is 60%. So he is getting the heart part done first then later the legs will get an angiogamd and cloggs there will be dealt with then. I hope the doctor can put a GPS gadget in him so when he is up and running on all cylinders I can find him!
So if you think about it, say a few little prayers for a successful surgery on Thrusday the 17th. Will check in and let you know how things went.
Thanks

Funny enough, though I haven't a clue about Veritas,
or why it should be stuck anywhere.
Cheers up your way, Resty.

Mr Kilroy-Silk: "We'll be straight talking" Ex-BBC chat show host and East Midlands MEP Robert Kilroy-Silk said he wanted to "change the face of British politics" as he launched his new party. Mr Kilroy-Silk, who recently quit the UK Independence Party, said "our country" was being "stolen from us" by mass immigration
THE MEANING OF VERITAS....
In Roman mythology, Veritas ("truth") was the goddess of truth and a daughter of Saturn.
Veritas is also the name given to the virtue of truthfulness, which was considered one of the main virtues any good Roman should possess.
Veritas is the name of South Africas annual wine competition, organised by the South African National Wine Show Association (SANW). Winning wines display a gold seal on their bottles.

LOL!!
Greetings from the Pacific Northwest....its sunny here right now, but boy, it sure was cold last nite...down into the 20s, and supposed to be cold all this coming week, with 20s at nite...Brrr...too cold for me, I am ready for spring...spent yesterday looking at seed catalogs, picturing in my mind, what kind of flowers I want to plant...but it stays damp and chilly here for so long, it will be a while yet, before I can put any seeds into the ground....but its fun planning...
Andy has returned from Cuba...he got in last nite at 2am, and then had to quick, grab some sleep, ,and then head on to work...I talked to him at work today, via IM....he surely did enjoy his trip to Cuba...tho he says the food and the lodgings are absolutely horrid...Cuba has a real problem with repeat tourists on that account...but apparently Andy was able to convince some of the locals to put him up in their homes, and feed him in their homes, for a few bucks....those lodgings and the food were much better...anything govt. run, which everything is, is just absolutely horrible...but the Cuban people are very friendly, and accomodating, and just as poor as can be...
Anyway, we talked a little while, and then of course, he had to get back to work...but he is coming down here to Olympia, on the Amtrack, to borrow one of our cars, so that he wont have to rush into buying another car for himself(his poor Camarro, is in the dead car lot, smashed to smithereens in his accident)....so he will take Doms little red Firebird and use that until he decides and buys whatever next car he wants...
So he will be down here either Wed or Thurs evening to borrow the car, and I will fix him a giant sized lasagne, ,as he said all he wants now, is to gorge himself on some good food...feels like his tummy was somewhat deprived in Cuba....so we will be able to talk with him at greater length about his trip, and see his pics...it should be interesting...
I am sure Dom will call in sick to the trusty post office when Andy comes down...Dom has about 4 months sick time built up at the post office, and only has 2months left to work...so he is taking as much 'sick' time off as he can, before he retires...
Anyway, hope all at DD-Freeoples are well, happy, and looking forward to the coming spring season, may it arrive swiftly....
Westy, my dad loved to draw that Kilroy picture in all sorts of odd places...his favorite place to draw Kilroy was on the walls of our house...whenever he had to wallpaper, he took off the old wallpaper, and then with paint, would paint lots of Kilroy pics all over the walls...above the bathroom, he would paint, 'Latrine'...over or under the windows, he would paint 'Exit'...
We kids loved all his painting on the bare walls so much, we used to beg him not to wallpaper over his handiwork...of course, mom objected to that, tho I think dad would have preferred his handiwork, to moms wallpaper...dads handiwork and artwork, gave the walls character....
I just wonder about new people who live in the house, and what they might think when the go to tear off the old wallpaper, and see all those odd things painted on the walls...they probably thought dad was drunk(which he was, painting and wallpapering were always a good reason to drink)...
But the 'Kilroy was Here' pic was on every wall, several times over...
Was sure glad to hear Andy has made it back from Cuba in one piece...
.....Westy....
I remember when I was a kid all the neightborhood kids would run around saying Kill Roy was here....LOL

Wonderful stuff - thanks so much for sharing it here.
"Sick" days are a good thing, especially when you have more of them than work days.
Burn'em Dom.
Cheers.
