It's nice to wake up in the morning once in awhile without the alarm and be able to have my coffee at leisure.

whimper.

...this story (is) from the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday. One of the speakers was Tony Hall, former Democratic Congressman from Ohio who is now the U.S. ambassador to the U. N. food and agriculture agencies, based in Rome.
Hall urged religious men and women of both parties not to be shy about bringing their faith to the office and letting it be part of who they are in public. He described a trip he took to an Islamic country where he was greeted by the U.S. ambassador at the airport.
"Congressman Hall," Hall quoted the unnamed ambassador as saying, "I just want to remind you that you're in a Muslim country. Don't talk about religion, or it could really set back what we're trying to accomplish here." Hall said he just nodded politely. When they arrived at the office of the Muslim leader, Hall says he was asked why he had come to the country. "I would like to be your friend," Hall said. "I would like our countries to be friends. And I would like to invite you to the National Prayer Breakfast, in the name of Jesus."

The Muslim leader got very excited. He slapped his knee and, according to Hall, said, "That is remarkable. You have come all this way to be my friend and to talk to me about Jesus. That is wonderful. My mother used to talk to me a lot about Jesus when I was a child. We should talk about Jesus more often." Then the leader turned to the Ambassador and said, "Why don't you talk about Jesus?"

The audience howled.

+++

Excellent witness, Mr.Tony Hall - way to go.

I think it might have been a real life troll hunt, only I didn't recognize it as such at the time. It was rather an awesome power, though.

Sorry about the headache, Darks. That was an accidental hit.

Mrs.L had horrible dreams last night, but those were probably due to one too many slices of Supreme Pizza - not the Dark 1. I hope.

Uh oh. Or, it was my fault for accidentally bringing her up - without meaning to imply you carouse without her :)

I am cheerful. This is as cheerful as I get at this hour.

In a couple hours I'm going to audition for "The Apprentice" I figure if I can take 6+ years of Margaret, Martha should be a snap.

(Margaret says at least when Martha goes all caustic, everything she throws at you is color coördinated)...

I love the show with Trump and I think Martha is the next hostess as soon as she gets out of prison. That would be sooooo awesome to see someone I know on the show. Nully could kick those whiners out.

I've gotta run - bbl!

Wow! That's cool, Nully! If you get the job, we can swap TV Show stories. Break a leg.
Gabe and I have to leave in the next couple of hours for the long drive to Dallas.
