LOL. I promise. I most surely promise. :)
I'll let you know what I'm after in that particular arena, once I get just a few more facts. :)
What do you know about candlesticks? I've been through 2 dozen, at least, today. :) None suit.
For real? What have I missed? Is there something going on with pets I don't know about?
I know the major insurance companies stopped coverage for alot of the larger dogs. It's almost impossible to get homeowners to cover you for a Pit Bull, for example.
My dog Cookie has an enlarged heart, common, in Pekingese and one of the meds she is taking is a bronchodialator similar to epinephrine/adrenaline to counter the hearts pressure on the bronchial tubes.
Last night she managed to spit out part of the pill, and Pepper, the other Peke, who is healthy, ate it. She was still running around wagging her tail, barking at things at 4:30 this morning, totally wired. That's when I gave up, put her in my bathtub to keep her still and finally went to bed.
Yes, the tub was empty.
Tonight, I am going to bed early, in fact, soon.

Seriously.
LOL. Interesting poll found here:

See you tomorrow, or soon, Precious. Smooch.
I love animals, some kinds more than others, but I've always been an animal lover and am a firm believer in being responsible for the pets you adopt, but they're pets. We're to be stewards of our animal friends, not their danged parents. I'd be willing to bet that some of these PETA type morons treat thier animals better than they treat their children, the ones they allow to live anyway.
I don't agree.
I do wish statistics were available for the number of animals killed per city pounds, vs. humane society.
Until tonight, I've never heard the Humane Society and PETA being linked, for any reason.
If I understand you right, it's your opinion and you don't have statistics or facts?
I KNOW PETA is wacko. No doubt.
Get a "pill shooter" from your vet, jamb it half-way down her gullet, hold her non-existent jaw closed, rub her throat, end of story. Pill down dog.
Good luck with it.
Oh! I see. I'll just have to consider all of this.
I understand Stewardship and Ownership. I also understand being held accountable for the living things placed in our care.
Too bad there are so many parents who don't grasp that concept. This little girl is barely 4 years old and is on medication for bipolar disorder. Mom has a 9'th grade education (seems a common year for parents to drop out of school around here) and a bad attitude.
.

No, Ringy, I don't have statics. But, today at the HS, I saw a man trying to "adopt" a dog. He was explaining to a question from the lady that he had a heated garage with a doggie door to his fenced yard. She said "we don't like 'our' dogs to be in the yard unsupervised.
Now, I have no idea if this man was turned down or not, but if he was, the dog has had to wait for a better offer or die.
It is insane.
From your link:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Dont abandon the local Humane Society animal shelters in your own community theyre still doing their commendable work as always.
We have not suddenly become political activists. This exposé is just an honest response to the attack the HSUS initiated upon all herp keepers. We hope it may convince you to spread the word to friends and family. Avoid doing anything that benefits the Humane Society of the United States, the reptile hobby and industry's new sworn enemy.

I understand. Certainly Children should never be abused, NOR should animals.
Isn't there a certain thing, Psychologically speaking, about people who abuse animals are more likely to abuse people?
Oh, I have just remembered something. Did Bess cotton to the idea of a pet for your Christmas present?
