You'd be amazed (well, maybe you wouldn't) how many of my clients are on it, or trying to get it. In a couple of cases, they should (those are generally the ones that have the hardest time getting it), but in most cases, it is just that they don't want to work so they manufacture some "disability" to be excused from working so they have more time to abuse their kids.

A few years back, when the ADD thing was just starting up, and had been listed as an approved disability, there was some small town in AR that had over 75% of the kids drawing their monthly checks.

Someone, somewhere, finally noticed this anomaly, got an investigation going, and disallowed most all of the scammers.

As they say in baseball, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying."

Thanks for the SSI info. I've never actually read about it, just heard my parents get really upset...

I was friends with some great North and West Africans in grad school - they were the first Muslims I knew but they were good people who happened to be that religion. I didn't know at the time there was at least one 9/11 hijacker living here.

Tucson is still a hub of activity for the bad Muslims... There is only one in town who ever speaks out - great guy, Iraqui, owns a coffee shop. The rest stay silent or play victim whenever the "Great Satan" (gag, gag, gag) acts.

That's crazy, nully....really...it is. I wish I was still in touch with the Muslims I once knew, to know what their reactions were to this....but it's been years. So I honestly don't know; but I can't imagine the ones I knew would be like that, at all....

Yes - it's just not tied to earnings. I'm not trying to say it's OK, i'm just trying to say it's a different program. As I said, it's a welfare check. There are lots of different pots of money the government has, and they all come from the same place, it's just that you have to jump through different hoops to get checks.
