they're out to dinner...at least I was kind enough to tell shark not to choke, after he was abusing me for so long....but I did concoct a spell on both of them for their abuse, lol! : )
LOL! Indeed.
My husband used to work in a county clinic, and he would tell me tales of people who would come in for the most minor things. Why not? It didn't cost them anything. One woman brought her daughter in for a simple mosquito bite. It wasn't even infected. Just a bite. Another woman came in because she had a little dry skin on her hand. Just needed some hand lotion. Many of them would make appointments and not show up. Not only did they not have to pay for the appointments they missed, the county would actually send a home-care nurse or social worker to find out why the person missed the appointment (and I'm not talking about people who had serious illnesses where they needed to be followed up). Again, why not? Didn't cost them one thin dime. If they had to pay, they might think twice about sucking up the resources.
I agree with you in principle, and there are certainly those who are wasreful of resources. but then you also have those who won't get medical attention when they really need it because it would be cost prohibitive. Many are in that position now, even with insurance, because the copays are rising all the time. I can remember when it wasn't uncommon to pay outright for a doctor's visit and prescriptions, but that was when the average doctor's visit was $10 and total prescription costs less than that. I just don't think there is a plan that fits everybody. People need to have options to suit thier needs and their budgets.
Very nice, but until fedgov changes its regulation that "no one can be turned away," what's the point?
The same bs as with all their wet dreams: only the law abiding folks follow them.
The illegals are immune from all these schemes, Cheri.
That's why there would be a medical savings account. The money that one would normally pay for insurance premiums would go into a tax-sheltered savings account, and that money would be used for any routine medical care that comes up. Sure, it's not perfect, and there are no doubt people that would still have difficulty affording it. I'm assuming that things like Medicaid would still exist for low-income folks. The patients that I was referring to in my previous post were for the most part welfare mothers. The taxpayers were covering their medical care 100%. Most people who have insurance coverage through their employers still pay a portion of their insurance premiums, along with copays. I know I was gritching about the $50 copay for my Allegra last week. That's a chunk of change. I haven't checked to see what the copays have gone up to on other meds that are on their formular, I guess I'm afraid to.
Tell me about about it
To your questions ... Yes and no
BTW .. I need to find what I did with my life
Yes, I know that, I live in California, remember? When my husband was working at the clinic, he had a special code to put on medical charts for people who weren't covered by Medical (the welfare folks), didn't have their own insurance, and didn't have Social Security numbers (oh, illegals!) There was a fund to pay for their care, courtesy of the California taxpayers. We're not talking emergency room care, we're talking clinic non-emergency.
Practically anything brand name is a $50 copay on my insurance, with few exceptions, which is particularly useless when it is a prescription that doesn't even cost $50, so basically, you pay the full price anyway.
Copays on brand name stuff, like flonase, WAS $25. The Allegra WAS $35. I was spending $85 a month on my prescription allergy drugs. I'm afraid to check to see what it's gone up to.
Whoa.
Invest in Blue Thingies.
We have been chatty? LOL. Imagine that!
Good things come to those who wait! :)
LOL. When you discover what you did with your life, lemme know how you figured it out! Please! :)
Expensive medicines? I don't want to talk about it. Have mercy! Mine are not even fun drugs. :)
That is sooooooooo disgusting. Really!
I am thinking about another race horse. Tell me NO!
Helllllllllllllo. Am I home alone?????????
Precious, I am considering going to the Kenneland sale in July. Would you and Lisa Anne like to come along with? That is IF I get to go and really am going to be this stupid, again? :)
Tell me I don't need to get involved in this sort of thing anymore. :)
Do you follow horses and if so, who do you think will win the Kentucky Derby?
