Wouldn't know much about pigeons. Don't have any. Got lots of Mourning Doves, though.

The pigeons find all the little alcoves and beams on the roof to roost on, and crap all over everything. We've put barriers where we can, and they still find places to roost, and still crap all over everything. I hate them. If our neighbors weren't so close, I'd drag out my .22 and shoot them, but if I did that, I can be sure that there would be a SWAT team here in short order.

If you're going to the main page, you'll see a large "Goldtalk" that fades out, and then redirects you to the main site. Are you on dialup? It take a little bit of time for that to happen.

I found this also:
"Pigeons can be discouraged from roosting by fastening porcupine wires (small clusters of wire that have several ends that point outward) to common roost sites. These are very effective."

Your goldtalk link just worked flawlessly here.

I've got a pellet pistol, but I guess it just isn't powerful enough. I have to be careful not to be seen with it, because I don't want the neighbors calling the police. "PLEASE HURRY! The crazy lady across the street has GUN!!" I was hitting them, but it wasn't killing them, and they came back. We've put up barriers on some of the most obvious roosting places, but they're roosting now in areas that I would have thought would be too uncomfortable for the. They are soooo persistent!

We'll have to try something like that on the roof tiles where they're sitting, Maybe we can figure out some way to attach those spike-like things to those areas.

Sounds like the deer around here - they wander the streets and yards like they owned them; eating flowers, plants, tearing up trees during the rut, and generally pissing me off with their bad behavior.

It is truly stunning to me the level of self-loathing and ignorance that has to be in play for these people to say some of the things they do....and actually believe it. There are just no words to respond to something like this. I think the only thing that would wake somebody up that is this far gone is to send them over there to live amongst the people in Iraq for a year or so. Could be a real attituda adjuster.

Great link, sl.
They really have gone off the edge. So many people with such negative attitudes. Very scary. Did you hear about Kerry's interview this AM? What a petty man, going down the road of self-immolation side by side with Algore.
If this Iraqi situation ever actually gains control of any kind, these people could have a mass melting in public......not that I would mind.........but what would we do with all the slime?

"these people could have a mass melting in public.." I think that began right after the 2000 election.
