Bump and weep...
What will the haughty, pretentious Mac heads do now?
Mac OS X - Currently, 0 out of 41 Secunia advisories, is marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database.
Microsoft Windows XP Professional- Currently, 20 out of 80 Secunia advisories, is marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database.
Let's include all the information available, why don't we?

It may well be that the only reason for the smaller number of attacks on Apples and Linux systems is that they're less popular and present a less-appealing tharget, even if there are no technical security advantages to them, the fact that they represent a smaller target is a major practical advantage.
Indeed, my biggest complaint with the DOJ's attacks on Microsoft is that they completely ignored the national security implications of having an OS monoculture. Pricing and trade practices pale in importance compared to that.
gee. What a surprise
Medical researchers studying asthma have suggested that what one of these observations I am about to observe may the reason why so many children now have asthma. Or even hyper-allergenics.
Insurance statisticians and risk modelers believe the other explains why some cars that do very poorly in crash tests are in practise amoung the safest cars per mile driven.
What are they?
(1) Observation of being somewhat dirty and sloppy contributing to health. That some low level of of virus and bacteria, or allergenic agents makes for long term health.
That over-isolation, over-zealousness in hygiene create people and systems that are vulnerable in catestropic fashion to attack, that are not robust, that are fragile.
(2) Observation of obvious and real danger contributing to safety. A car that is obviously dangerous to drive is driven more safely, an intersection or stretch of road that is obviously dangerous is driven through with more precaution and care. The obviousness of the danger -- which MUST be real -- engenders a countering psychological reaction which more than compensates for the danger.
Bush2000 felt it necessary to REPOST this June 2004 article slamming OSX security by Secunia - - PING!
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
You had to search long and hard for this piece of crap article.... It made me laugh.
The proof is in the pudding. You don't hear Mac users complaining in a neverending fashion about the bugs and failed service packs....
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mac users are happy and PC users are cranky.
Cheers, CC :)
you're an employee of bill gates?
"Windows fanboys cant get a grip on the fact that their OS is full of holes and backdoors for malicious coders."
I invite you to read the posted article and afterward tell me how your words taste. They sounded bitter the first time and I can only guess the second time they are much more bitter.
And for the record if you hadn't commented so arrogantly I wouldn't have reposted it in full.
Dang, I just paid $9,000 for my custom designed Apple G6¼ dual processor with cinema display. I'm going to cancel my order. Dell has something on special that can do the same for $500... I saw a spacial on Viewsonic 19" LCDs for $299.
Macs are suprerior.
The article deliberately does not deal with empirical occurences. Theoretical designs to crash Mac OS X exists but are not practically implemented.
I have a standing challenge to my graduate students. Show me a PC notebook that you successfully maintain and keep for two years of grad school.
In ten years, no PC notebooks have survived. All my Mac notebooks still work (including Pre OS X).
