AMERICANS DOING THE JOB CONGRESS WON'T DO
Email | January 13, 2005 | Frosty Wooldridge

There are rare times in American history when citizens must take action to do the jobs that elected leaders won’t do. The Minute Man Project promises to be the next Boston Tea Party beginning on April 1, 2005.

What happened December 17, 1773? It was a date that few legal immigrants or illegal aliens know about or understand. How did that notorious moment occur in American history? Who caused it? What was the result?

The Boston Tea Party blasted into the news and across the Atlantic Ocean and into the halls of British Parliament because a bunch of American rednecks and "proud of it" patriots were sick and tired of the British Tea tax. They stormed the gangplanks on three ships in Boston harbor while tossing bags of tea overboard. As they say, "Conviction without action is worthless."

Listen well and listen hard mates, because another American Moment is about to break into the headlines of Dan, Tom, Brian and Larry King on the Arizona border on April 1, 2005. You can read about it in history or you can be a part of it.

The Minute Man Project launched last fall and grows by the day. Already volunteers have signed up from 30 states--many U.S. military veterans volunteered for this new mission to protect America from a Congress that does not and will not represent American citizens. The project expects over 1000 volunteers from every walk of life to serve 1 to 30 days (perhaps in shifts) spotting illegal aliens as they storm our nation’s borders-- numbering 10,000 daily and three million annually. Yes, that number is verified by Time Magazine.

From the Boston Tea Party to every militiaman who served, starved and froze to death at Valley Forge for our new country, Americans have answered the call.

Today, our own government acts more like the British government of 1776. Our Congress is in breach of its oath of office. Our president panders to Mexico’s Fox instead of focusing on our needs and rights—and the rule of law. Our own senators and congressmen ignore us. Last fall, Arizona Senators McCain and Kyl along with Congressmen Kolbe and Flake denounced Proposition 200 that was overwhelmingly passed by voters. It shows you HOW out of touch they are with their constituents. Anti-American Hispanic gangs grow in our communities while LULAC, LA RAZA, MECHA and MULDEF, who are virulent anti-American organizations, gain numbers and strength daily. Much like those men at the Boston Tea Party, we’re tired of it.

Where’s this 21st Century party going to happen? It begins in Tombstone, Arizona, April 1, 2005. Its leaders, Jim Gilchrist, former US Marine combat veteran and Chris Simcox, editor of the Tombstone Tumbleweed, will be celebrated as the new American patriots.

"I am recruiting volunteers to converge on the southern border of Arizona for the purpose of aiding the U.S. Border Patrol in "spotting" intruders entering the U.S. illegally," Gilchrist said. "As it is, they only catch one in four illegal aliens. For 30 days, we’re going to shut down that illegal alien smuggling alley."

"Currently, 10,000 illegal aliens enter the US daily," Simcox said. "Over 5,000 invade from Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California daily. Add our East Coast, West Coast and Canada, you’ve got three million per year."

Time Magazine corroborated those numbers in its, "Who Left The Door Open?" September 12, 2004

"Our object is to spot those intruders by eyesight, binoculars and night telescopes," Simcox said, "and report them to patrol officers."

"I intend to stay the entire 30 days of this mission," Gilchrist said. "However, the length of time is not a requirement to volunteer. The key is to bring national media attention to this invasion. For anyone needing more information, they may write my email address." For a full information packet: www.minutemanproject.com

"Our government is mandated by the Constitution, Article IV, Section 4, to protect all states from invasion. We’ve already been invaded by 15 million people who have broken our laws by coming here illegally. Another three million annually is unacceptable."

Simcox said he stands for the same thing that Mark Twain said, "In the beginning of change, the patriot is a brave and scarce man, hated and scorned. When the cause suceeds, however, the timid join him…for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."

If Gilchrist and Simcox were worried about volunteers, they need not be. Retired colonels, majors, captains and sergeants are signing up by the day. Ordinary citizens offer their presence in this project. If the Mexican government thinks it can sidestep our well-trained military veterans from the Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force—they’ve got another thought coming.

"We urge every volunteer to bring their state flag to this event," Gilchrist said. "We want to show our leaders that Americans are united in their demands for our borders to be closed off to illegal migration. We’re going to plant flags into the soil along the Naco Line on our side of the border."

This foreign invasion is no longer a joke. It’s no longer fun. It’s no longer tolerable. They’re "coming here for a better life" will no longer cut it. When illegals say, "They’re a bunch of racists," it no longer holds water. This is about the rule of law. This is about our country not theirs. "They’re coming here to do the jobs that Americans won’t do" is an excuse that can no longer be tolerated. If immigrant medical doctors were paid $5.00 an hour slave wages…there wouldn’t be any doctors doing the jobs that Americans won’t do, either.

What will those illegal aliens and drug smugglers see on the border come April 1, 2005? They are going to meet with a miles long line of organized, military-style, determined, gritty and pissed-off American patriots in tents, motor-homes and pickup trucks standing by campfires and from every walk of life. Their only weapons will be the holding of binoculars and night vision scopes—and taking a stand for America. They’re going to shut down the borders in that sector to show President Bush that it CAN be done if and when he chooses to do his job.

We protect the borders of countries around the world with our lives and our money. It’s time we protect our sovereignty and our nation by protecting our own borders.

What did the Boston Tea Party do? It was the first "labor contraction" that birthed a new nation. What will the Minute Man Project accomplish? It will be another stand in stopping the death of this nation. It will force the Congress and president into action, into doing their jobs, into representing Americans and our interests. It will be an exclamation point to the voter approved Proposition 200 in Arizona. It will become the beginning of the end of illegal alien immigration into the United States of America.

It will prove one of America’s finest hours in the beginning of the 21st Century.

Bump for border security.

It's all about numbers and culture.

I had a dream a while back, that my city fell victim to violence brought on by three Mexican illegal immigrants. It started with a simple home invasion, where they were shot dead by the owner. Since they were part of a violent gang from out of town, their friends moved in and took vengeance on the city. Soon, once friendly neighbors were turning on each other and the city nearly burned to the ground. When the smoke finally cleared the mayor and police chief were asked at a news conference how this all got started, and their answer was it all started with three Mexicans.

I'm kind of upset that no one was doing this before.

Exactly. It's past time for the American people to send a message to our government that they work for us and not Mexico. If they refuse to enforce our federal laws then it is time for someone to step in and do it.

Spot on analysis. First it is denial and some wishful thinking, the next thing will be the Stockholm syndrome from our "elite."

.... Either way, the whole notion is futile. ....

You could be right but on the other hand you very well could be wrong. I imagine you're the latter. Sorry, but that's how I view your generalized pessimistic message.

I am waiting for a citizen revolt in my lifetime .

Does anyone remember the term limits movement? Where did that go

We have Kings and Princes sitting in Washington, ruling by edict and getting rich by selling this nation out.

I can not come but will donate money to this effort

You would think that ONE 9/11 incident would have been enough, but I guess not. I wonder just how many times we have to be harmed before our Government wakes up.

Didn't say that at all. The inarguable fact of the matter is, though, that until and unless the citizenry DEMAND -- in no uncertain terms, and with some method at hand of backing up such demand -- that the government-business axis enforce the constitution and the assorted statutes, no amount of private action, whether vigiltanism or something else, will have any measurable effect on the problem.

There isn't yet any forceful consensus among the citizenry, and nothing will be done until there is. And, I daresay, there won't BE such a consensus until some number of absolute outrages occur, type and nature as yet unknown.

Here is a legal question:

If "unauthorized" individuals actually do stop some illegals from entering, could they be charged with a crime? Like kidnapping or something if they take them to jail or physically deport them?

If they do what the government should do, could the defense to the charge be that our federal government "Of the People, By the People and For the People", is not living up to their responsibilities. It therefore falls to others to enforce laws.

I'm kind of upset that no one was doing this before.

There are already two active groups working here in Cochise County.

Civil Homeland Defense, led by Chris Simcox, patrols the Naco Corridor on foot, on ATVs, and on horseback. In the last two years they have turned in several thousand aliens.

American Border Patrol, led by Glenn Spencer, started off doing ground patrols, but then developed and deployed their own suite of ground sensors. They then built the Border Hawk family of unmanned aerial vehicles that now fly along the border -- regular video during the day and infrared at night.

Jim Gilchrist found a way to take the matter national. One thing left out of the article was the fact that the Minuteman Project includes 7 aircraft for additional aerial spotting.
