After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
How can you know anything if you know nothing?
Far as I can tell from what you have been telling me, you don't know that you don't know.
BigMack
You did indirectly. 27 out of hundreds of books survived. They decided the 27 and, according to you, God gave it the stamp of approval.
Not true.
BigMack
I'm under the impression Anathasius (sp) came up with the final 27. No?
I could imagine it if that was God's will. I only go by what I read and purity a pattern.
No, the 27 had been put together long before the RCC ever layed claim to them.
BigMack
Are you now speaking of the actual content of the books themselves? I'm talking about the decision to group these 27 together and eliminate hundreds of others.
No mere mortal can muster against the mighty forces of Heniz Field. We're on our third kicker in 4 years. No visitor has been able to learn her subtle complexities. And I'm sure Adam V will be given the league-minimum amount of practice time on her field.

I couldn't help comparing them to the poor Texas kids who tried to build a snowman with a shovel because the snow was "too cold" to touch.
On the other hand I don't think my neighborhood kids could handle Brownsville in the summer.
Me too.
Just to save time I'll tell you now you won't agree with the source or what it says.
We have been doing this too long. :)
Gotta run to the bank, see ya later.

I can't pull scripture up but isn't Mary considered righteous? Would she be so if she had been messing around behind Josephs back? Is there a reason why her being a virgin would be a problem with your belief or is this just a what if debate? :')
SD
Field goals won't be necessary. Pat's by 14. And it might be 14 to 0!
:')
It is whatever God wants it to be. And you are right, my argument is purely hypothetical. Neither case is proved from the Old Testament.
Might have some bad news for you there bro...
Joseph wasn't His biological father. Scripture tells us this. If Mary wasn't a virgin, she was a player. Is this how God speaks of her, Reg?
LOL...you're right, but he got there and THEN found out:) He was then going to return some movies we rented, got to Blockbuster, THEN found out he'd left them here:)
He just called laughing.

His own disciples referred to him five times as the son of Joseph! Eighty-seven times in the four Gospels, he referred to himself as Ben-Adam, meaning the Human Being.
From the Hebrew
0120 'adam {aw-dawm'}
1) man, mankind
a) man, human being
b) man, mankind (much more frequently intended sense in OT)
c) Adam, first man
d) city in Jordan valley
Don't know about the 87 times but he did have a human being:'). I know you don't believe the NT but as an observer how do you read Joseph thinking about putting her away, the angels message to him and that he did not "know" her until after Christ's birth. That's what I was asking Reggie. Do you read she was a virgin?
