After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
I was kinda hoping for Cincy after Palmer went down. :-) Not sure about the spread. Probably 3 pts just because home field advantage.
Even Leftwich, who was very rusty, completed almost 60% of his passes even when the Pats had stopped the ground game and their front seven were crushing Jacksonville. Under these circumstances the Pats secondary should have had an easy day.
Leftwich doesn't have the mobility Plummer. Be that as it may I expect Belicheck to counter that somehow.
I think if we come out of Indy with the win, we'll be favored to win the next week.
For that to happen, however, would require the perfect game with all of the bounces going our way and a few miscues from the other team. They will not be able to spot the Colts ten points and play catch-up.
That said, I think it's good we got our jutters out and the Colts may need some time to get into it, with many of them having not played a serious game for 4 weeks. If the Colts refrain from illegally amplifying the crowd noise, we might have a chance. The game starts 0-0.

The beauty is, the odds don't mean diddle pee pee poo poo.
Actually, I am pleased with the Patriots "comeback" in the last half of the season and will not be disappointed whatever the outcome.
The only thing is, I want the AFC to win the big one.
Dang. By listening to the Radio and watching television I have a good mind to call the Broncos and tell them to lock the gates and not let the Patriots into the stadium on Saturday. I'm already waving the white flag. :-)
Don't forget - the Broncos are favored.
Whoop de do, by two people in Vegas. I can't turn an electronic component on without somebody fawning all over Brady, Belicheck and Bruski. One might think there are more homosexuals in the sports media than originally thought. (I don't know who originally thought that but it sounded good) :-)
The suggestion that an Indiana team would cheat at anything other than basketball, frankly, hurts my feelings.
Once the media get on a theme, it's hard to break them off. You'll note the network had to bring out the USC angle during the Steeler game, with Palmer and Palamalu being former teammates. I was thinking "Didn't USC lose the title game? Why are we still going on about them?"
Habits die hard. Beat the Patriots and we'll all breathe a sigh of relief.

Impossible. Brady best ever, good looking, living legend. Bruski a true hero playing with terminal cancer, a brain tumor, on oxygen, and numberous heart artery angiaplastis. Belicheck, a Rhodes scholar, genius, nobel peace prize winner and and United Nations ambassador for world peace. I just can't see it. :-)

Some people kinda think Brady is outstanding and could be a deciding factor. Wonder why?
If the Patriots win it will be an upset!
Did you just call me a ding dong? Whoop de do, 2 vegas guys and now 3 ex-jocks in suits. Out of a populations of what, 280 million? lol.
Try to get this through your thick skull. The line is not set by the bookies, not set by the talking heads, not set by Las Vegas, not set by you or me. It is set by the Bettors. The Bettors are choosing the Broncos.
THE BRONCOS ARE FAVORED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nuff said.
Don't know about that, but I find it interesting that the Colts are going to hand out white flags, er towels, for their fans to wave during the game.

Indianapolis is such a midwestern city, perhaps they wanted the Steelers to feel as if they were in France.

I'm not hearing any sports pundits concerned about the gambling public. I'm listening to all the radio and televison "sports journalists" whose hearts are filled with love, adoration and compassion for Brady, Bruski, Belichek and all the wonderful Patriots. I have to conclude that the thought apparently has never occured to them that the Broncos might have a teensey weensey chance of winning. So I'm sitting here at home waving my white flag and feeling unworthy. Woe is me.
Lol. Should be good game. Good luck to you and your boys.
