The Neverending Story
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. |
After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Books/Literature; Chit/Chat; Computers/Internet; Education; Food; Gardening; History; Hobbies; Humor; Miscellaneous; Music/Entertainment; Pets/Animals; Religion; Society; Sports; TV/Movies; Weather

Hey Dave have you see the show According to Jim? No, but one of the writers is a contributor to National Review. Are you guys watching Prison Break?

I'm looking at it right the opposite:') Smokers can go outside . I might lock my gun up in my car , esp if kids around but I'm not leaving Cindy.
I'm with you. I'd rather share space with my neighbors farty Great Dane than with a smoker.

Be careful and don't get too much of that on ya. :) This is an unusual situation, as I don't normally date more than one person at a time. I happened to meet two women at right around the same time, and hit it off well with both of them. I'm a little more inclined to one, but it's too early to tell.
No kidding, my new goal is to be a truly free man, your only free if you own nothing (or very little), I'm selling everything I own, cashing out and owning only my home, Harley, RV, if I can't eat it, smoke it, chew it, drink it I ain't buying it. I don't want anything you have to do something to or with. I'm just gonna work a couple of days a week and then go home and grin. :)
Does "cashing out" include selling the business and the building?

I think that's a few years off, and of course, depends upon the regulatory climate in your state. All I know is there better be some heavy duty lightning suppressors between the power line and the broadband electronics.

I like the smell of tobacco as long as it isn't in my face and in a ventilated area. Animals shouldn't be allowed loose but I was just prioritizing. Don't let SD fool you though. You take away someones cigarettes and they very well may bite you:')

LOL, that is hysterical! :o)

You take away someones cigarettes and they may very well bite you. Only if they're out of chew.

LOL, that is hysterical! :o) That's about the most hilarious thing I've seen in years. How could I leave you out?

Looks like all the injuries are starting to catch up with the Pats. Of course, San Diego is a team that matches up particularly well against them, too.
To: malakhi
I'm certainly glad the Chargers got
that out of their system.

I'm glad I'll be at Rosh Hashanah services tonight, and will miss the Packers stinking it up on Monday Night Football.
To: malakhi
The Packers started off 1-4 last year. It's still early. It's not like they lost to Rutgers.

Yes, but last year they still had Wahle and Rivera on the offensive line. Losing them to free agency has really hurt the running game, which puts more of the offense on the shoulders of Favre, who tends to throw interceptions when he's trying to make too much happen. And our best receiver is out for the season.
Amazingly, it is the defense which has been keeping us in games.

I wondered the same thing myself. The Pats looked like a very ordinary team yesterday. We'll learn more in the next 4-5 weeks.
