The Neverending Story
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. |
After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Books/Literature; Chit/Chat; Computers/Internet; Education; Food; Gardening; History; Hobbies; Humor; Miscellaneous; Music/Entertainment; Pets/Animals; Religion; Society; Sports; TV/Movies; Weather

That's almost too accurate to be funny.
How ya been, Al? Anything new and exciting? How do the Cowboys look this year?
To: malakhi
Same old story ... just working and living and watching the kids grow. Too early to tell about the Cowboys. They did pretty decent in the draft, but free safety is still a concern. The Tuna's coming down hard on the guys so far this year, so maybe that'll light a fire under 'em. This week, he put Larry Allen on the "physically unable to perfom" list and hammered Julius Jones for a 4 yard loss during practice.
Will it be a playoff year? Don't know yet. But they'll at least be a decent team this year.
Now the Rangers ... that's another story. Looks like they're slipping into post-season form since the All-Star break.

Hello:)
How's everyone doing?
I wanted to tell you all that Mack and I are going to be grandparents again:). Our daughter this time. In March. I went with her yesterday for her first doctors appointment, and I got to see the baby and it's heart beat on an ultra sound. It was wonderful.

Hi - congratulations!
I've been busy, busy, busy and at the end of the day I've accomplished nothing.
Of course I've been busy doing such things as losing my cell phone, falling, and stupid things like that.
Last week we had a fierce thunder storm which lasted less than 20 minutes. The next morning a neighbor came over to ask me if I was scared when my treest came down. It was the first I knew anything happened. As it turned out three oak trees were topped, apparently by a microburst. It crushed a chain link fence and did some damage to a shed. Actually, the property damage turned out to be a positive factor. My insurance will pay for the tree clean up in order for the damage to be repaired. If I only had tree damage I would be paid $500 for a $1,500 tree cleanup job. That's the way my insurance works??????????????????

Hi Beck I'll be a grandfather for the first time in november.
To: malakhi
I've been meaning to tell you something for a few days but keep forgetting to. Oh well I have an excuse.
We have a week long annual event called YANKEE HOMECOMING. It is a big deal and brings in thousands of touri$t$.
One of the events is a 10K road race which brings in runners from across the country. (2,948 contestants this year). I noticed a woman from Appleton, Wisconsin did quite well. Molly Sunderlin, age 27 finished 4th. Now that's the kind of woman for you, young and athletic. :-)
