After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
Yeah, I remember those days.

Sorry to hear your horses were sick. I hope all is well now.
To someone from Massachusetts the other side of town doesn't sound so far, then I remember Houston is almost as big as the whole state of Massachusetts.
It's the "authority" question in another guise. And the whole idea of whether smaller is always better. For some things, yes; for others, no.
The irony is that any successful home church will grow to the point where either division or a larger facility will be needed.

Hello:)
We just got back from vacation. Mack took all of us, me, Jenny's family, and Charlie's family to Tx. so that the girls and I could go thru a Martha Josey barrell clinic. We had a blast. We were gone 6 days. The clinic was 3. We were on our horses for about 10 hours every day. I posted alot of pictures on the horse thread, you could see them on my comments page.
Becky
Hi Becky! I took a look at your pictures -- looks like you had fun!

Miss these sick, twisted people who can't stop discussing the same stuff over and over for 4 years?! You've got to be kidding!!! ;o)
Now y'all didn't think I could actually let a comment like that go by without reinlisting at FR, did ya?
BTW ... Here's Grace on the beach at Gulf Shores, AL during that vacation trip...
Howdy Al, great to see you! How's everything been going?
Hey Al. Good to see ya. More like 3 years, we haven't had a serious discussion in here for a year. Not being on the "religious" forum anymore we don't get the drive-bys like we used to. :-)
Wanna start something? :)
Texas cowpokes on the Redneck Riviera. ;-)

Hangin' in there.

Hit me with your best shot. ;o)

Redneck? Notice that I didn't post a picture of me on the beach. My gofler's/lawn mower's tan was less than attractive. ;o) That's actually a very nice place. We rented a 2 bedroom condo right on the beach 1/2 way between Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan. Gulf Shores took a direct hit from Ivan late last year and they're still doing a lot of rebuilding. But they've done a great job repairing everything where we were. We'll be going back again.
We've barely had a chance for a tan. May was super cool. Now we just came out of ten straight days with 85 degree weather. The lightning bugs are just hinting at returning and Sarah awaits her nightly hunting sprees.

LOL...sounds like me. I have a beautiful tan on my arms, face and neck. Mack told me the other day when I was running around in a pair of cut offs that he would pay for me to go to a tanning booth:)
Hey, it's good to hear from you. Come back often.
Becky
Hey Lurch!!!
You got drunk and was crying in yer beer and missed us didn't ya? :)
Hot Damn its good to see ya again.
