After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
Becky, if you hadn't signed that, I would've thought for sure Mack had posted it. :o)
LOL
Just my two cents, and after all, remember,Mack and I have hung out together for 30 years, not surpriseing we think alike on some things.
Becky
That would be a young, Jewish, beauty queen who's tired of spending her weekends at MENSA gatherings and longs for a pleasant middle aged man to help her spend her share of the Rothschild fortune?
Maybe so, but probably not the kind I'd want to take home to meet the family. ;o)
UUHHHH, angleo, the kind of lady that you would want to take home to meet your family, is going to want some hope of a marrige license, IMO:)
Yep ... just introducing her to the family will set the wheels in motion ... (that is ... if they aren't spinning already.
Truth is ... any quality woman you becoem involved with will be looking for something permament in time.
I thought you were talking about this one:
Makes ya smile from ear to ear when you find a good deal, hell I've probably spent more money at times on extra gas looking for the deal, but its the deal that makes it fun. :)
--Mack on the joys of shopping.

LOL:)
That is one area, Mack and I don't think alike on. I'm not a shopper at all. I go to one store and buy what I want/need and be done with it. Drives Mack crazy:)
Becky
Heheheh. On second thought, considering how, ummm, eccentric my family is, I don't dare take anyone too normal to meet them. ;o)
That all sounds good, with the exception of the "middle aged" thing. I'm only 36! :o)
Well, its a first date, so we're a ways away from that yet. My usual concern with introducing someone to my family is that they don't scare her off! If she can handle meeting my family with aplomb, that's a good sign.
(that is ... if they aren't spinning already.)
No doubt! ;o)
Truth is ... any quality woman you becoem involved with will be looking for something permament in time.
I would expect so.
Hello all. Good to chat with you again. I got the impression from talking with Al that he misses the Neverending gang. His account has been removed so I dont know if he will re-activate it. As I was leaving the other night his brother-in-law took a picture of me with Als family. I asked Al to e-mail the pic to me when he gets it developed. I was thinking of posting it here. If I do youll have no trouble picking me out of the group. Im the good looking one with the receding hairline :-)
I'm here. :-)
Do you need a shidduch? I am certain there is some older lady in your shul just *dying* to play the role. :-)
I understand the expectations of the godparent. My questions dealt more with, wouldn't you think it unusual to disinherit (not that they wanted anything, but to be told you were disinherited because your mother died????) Know what I mean? I just find it odd, even for MY grandmother.
LOL, undoubtedly. I'm not real keen on blind dates, though. :o)
36 isn't really middle aged...so long as you don't consider 73 to be old.
Yes, I think it's unusual. Cruel, even. If that was indeed the "reasoning" used, which I have no way of knowing.

If there were anything else, I don't know what it would be. When my great grandmother passed away, my grandmother made sure that this godchild got the blood rosary. I don't understand taking things out on the children anyway. It just doesn't make any sense. I don't know how we would find out the lawyer anyway. Thanks for your reply, I was just curious.
All estates, as far as I understand, require that legal notice be published prior to the judge declaring the case to be closed. This allows any creditors who may have a claim to be notified of the estate being finalized.

He finally ran out of yo-mamma jokes?
