After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
What do you consider the 'rapture' to be?
We will be caught up to be with the Lord, the church will no longer be here on the earth.
IOWs you spark, Steven, and anglo will still be posting here wondering where did we all go...do take care of the thread in our absence. :)

I could ask for nothing more. Much thanks! :-)
Hi blackie, welcome to the Neverending Story! :o)
Well, they really did miss him. Before his injury he frequently took the other team's top receiver one on one and effectively kept him out of the game. With Ty Law out there was no one who could play that role. Fortunately they have an excellent group of coaches who were able to devise an entirely different defense which could cover up for the new and untested corners while they were gaining experience. Now they have a few very young corners who are pretty darned good and getting better each week.
Owens may play but I'm pretty sure the Pat's have a "plan" to handle him.
They have proved they can win without him and they won't pay a kings ransom to keep him.
I don't believe so. I think last year was the bonanza year.
It would be either near-miraculous or a spectacular act of foolishness if he did. I was listening to sports talk radio yesterday, and they were saying his injury was the same as that suffered by a different NFL player earlier in the year. This other player is planning to begin running next month -- five months after the injury. If he plays on an improperly-healed leg, at best he'd be quite a bit less than 100%. At worst, he could set himself up for a career-ending injury.
We will. I can't speak for the others but, I'll pray for ya when you get taken away.
Matthew 24 (KJV)
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
The ones that got taken away were the wicked.
Matthew 13
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Notice the timing of events described, and how it compares with those taken first in Matthew 24:39-42. At the end of the world, when the time for the harvest of humanity has come, it is not the righteous who are gathered first, it is the wicked! The wicked are taken and dealt with first, while the people of YHWH are still among them.
Ecclesiastes 1:4 (King James Version) 4One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
Psalm 37:22
22For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
Psalm 37:34
34Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
Psalm 37:29
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
Thanks for the link, but I already know that the so called rapture isn't what people think! lol
Let's wait till February 7.

Does anglo glow in the dark?
If that's the case Owens won't play. Owens thinks too much about Owens to risk his future $'s.
Hi malakhi ~ I couldn't resist. :)
Everyone has their own interpretation of 'what's so' in life, especially about religion ~ look at how many different Christian sects their are; all claiming to be the only one. :)
~~~ and I'm not counting all of the other different religions. :):)
What do you consider the 'rapture' to be?John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Matthew 24
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Or this?
Matthew 13
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Whats floating thru your brain today?
