My name is Mary Katherine, and I reside in the state of Ohio. I am a registered Republican. I grew up in a small town with very strict parents, attend church every Sunday, and have generally tried to live a good and decent life. I have been married for 15 years, have 3 children, and I am a stay at home mother. I am personally opposed to abortion, I believe in small government, and I cheered when welfare was overhauled. I am personally opposed to gay marriage, and I deeply believe this country needs to do more about the divorce rate in this country. My father was a steel worker who didn't miss a day of work in 35 years. My mother was a housewife. I still visit them regularly even though they live 5 hours away from me.
I think if you met me on the street or at the supermarket we would probably like each other.
However, everyone on this board hates my guts. I voted for John Kerry, so, therefore, according to you, I am a pig with no values.
I come here, desperately trying to understand why that is.
If you haven't stopped reading by now, maybe I could explain the reasons for my vote.
I am a fiscal conservative. I find W's reckless spending troubling.
I believe in religious freedom in this country. So therefore, just because I personally oppose abortion, how can I expect every American who does not share my faith to abide by that as well?
I believe in the Constitution. Therefore, even though I oppose gay marriage, if the constitution affords gay Americans certain rights, who am I to deny them?
Finally, I do not believe the war in Iraq was executed in the appropriate way. I do not support it in its current form.
So there it is. You all hate me for only one reason - the vote I placed on November 2nd. My only hope is that someday, somehow, you could all have a little less hate for those who don't share your beliefs. Thank you for reading this.
What makes you think we hate you? If there is any emotion your befuddled positions evokes, it is pity and you have all the pity we can send your way.
"I am a registered Republican..."
We'll need a photocopy of your voter registration before we proceed any further.
Yes. You started off your idiot vanity post calling us all names. You obivously didn't read the Terms of Service for this website, nor are you a "Republican" who just happened to vote for one of the most Liberal Democrats to ever run for office.
Now, run along back to DU and tell all your real friends how mean us Conservatives are...
The VastRightWingConspiracy conducts seminars on how to strip away one's veneer of civility and politesse so as to be perfectly horrible when needed.
The question is, is this a moment to be horrible?
I share with you the desire that it not be so.
So post wisely and stop painting with such a broad brush - or you'll be whacked, sure as God made little green apples.
And that will be just ... well, horrible! ;^)
She's a smoking cinder now.
"An uniformed voter is a dangerous voter."
That was AlGore's schtick... LOL! "Uniformed"? hahahaha....
Did the kids over at DUmmyland send you over to FR. I don't hate you. I think you're pretty stupid to have voted for John Kerry when you claim to be a conservative. FYI, Kerry is the most liberal Senator in Congress. How could you, (the perfect conservative) vote for someone who would spend like a drunken sailor?
OK, you're gone, but I will still reply incase you're still lurking.
A troll is the typical name for any imposter on any web site. You are one. It's not really name calling. It's true.
And you are ignorant. That's true as well. I see by the incredibly high standards of your replies that you don't wish to learn anything either.
So you are now a close-minded, ignorant troll. No name-calling, all true.
I don't hate everyone who does not share my beliefs. I just think they are stupid. Do a little research on ANY topic relating to our government, candidates, or world events and you will find a VERY different picture that the one fed to you by any (including Fox; they can't tell you everything), media outlet. Oh, and the abortion thing. I am not religious, and freedom of religion has absolutely nothing to do with abortion. Do some research on the development of a fetus, and you will find information that would make anyone realize that very early on in gestation, a fetus has a hearbeat and nerve endings. How is that not alive? And late term abortion is flat out murder. One of my cousins had a premature baby at 21 weeks. That baby is now eight years old and wonderfully smart and funny. Not a thing is wrong with him. George Tiller and his kind would have had no problem digging his brain out of his head, and would have done it almost to full gestation. How can you not expect to hold every human being to the standard of abortion being wrong?
Zots are so hateful.
"you guys like speak a different language."
Like, totally.
Yes.
Many, in fact.
One of my daughters is a registered Democrat. I trust she will come to her senses when she wants to teach her children real values.
what's funny is that spell check changed it!!!
I rewrote it twice! Never trust spel chek!
If you don't like what's being said about your vanity post, get offline. We don't care. We'll play with it until we are finished and you don't have to watch.
Oh. Wait. Operative word is "vanity" so naturally, you will stay and read these horrible posts until you are banned. Goferit!
We'll have a Paving Party when you're gone. Or maybe even while you're here!
(Anyone seen the VK's?)
