On a more serious note: what is happening when you try to download it?

Can you be more specific about what is not working? What happens when you try to download and install it? Are you getting error messages, and if so, what do they say?

Flame me if you've got nothing better to do. . .You've been here long enough. You know invitations aren't necessary. :)

Go to
http://www.macromedia.com
and select the download from their website.
It is free. You may need both the Flash and Shockwave downloads.

When I attempt the download, the screen flashes briefly then I get that lovely white box with the red X in it.
Below that it says "Important Message: You may need to click the gold bar at the top of the browser window to allow the install."
But I don't get any bar at all - nowhere on my screen.

You may need to click the gold bar at the top of the browser window. . .What browser are you using? Have you tried more than one?

Been to that Quick Help site so many times now, I'm dizzy. Thank you for not being a smart ass like some people here - my future is literally on the line. My ActiveX controls seem to be checked off properly, my cookies enabled - can't figure out what the heck is wrong...

Sounds like a Pop-up Blocker is kicking in. Do you have SP2 of Win XP? Google Toolbar? Another Pop-up Blocker program? Somewhere you might have the option of "allow pop-ups on this site" or something similar. That's what you need if it is a pop-up that is being stopped.
To: LibSnubber
Sounds like you need to disable the popup blocker before you install it.

Try the link in #7. There should be a silver button on the left near the top labeled "download now." When you click it, you should get a dialog box asking where you want it saved.
Are you on dialup? Maybe your dialup connection is dropping out, coincidentally, at the time you're trying to do this.

I usually suggest the application of scalding hot tomato soup poured over the motherboard, but I've had that same frickin' problem too! I've got version 8 (or something) and need version 9 in order to watch some hilarious
Dave Chappelle clips (Black Bush is hysterical), but it won't update. Damn thing.
