Farrell: Gay Alexander IS Great

Colin Farrell and director Oliver Stone have spoken out to defend new movie Alexander, which has been given a thorough kicking in the US.

The £80m movie, which shocked America by portraying the Macedonian warrior king as 'Alex the gay', has only taken £18m across the pond.

Stone, director of Platoon and Born On The Fourth Of July, said: "There's a raging fundamentalism in morality in the US.

"From day one, audiences didn't show up. They didn't even read the reviews in the South because the media was using the words 'Alex the gay'.

"I was quite taken aback by the controversy and fierceness of the reviews about a character we don't really know too much about."

Colin Farrell has been called "hopelessly out of his depth" in the title role but Stone said the Irishman would "ride it out".

Colin admitted friends thought the film was "not exactly Gladiator".

But he said: "If Oliver ever wanted to work with me again, I would do it in a heartbeat."

Stone hinted he'd make changes to the DVD of the movie.

He said the "bond" in the homosexual scene could be "suggested in different ways".

"Now, one wonder just what THAT means ....."

I think Stone says what that means:

"Stone said the Irishman would "ride it out". "

The £80m movie...

Oh it was much more than that. It cost about 200$ millions dollars and that is about 500 million pounds.

Well if John Kerry can loose because 11 states passed marriage amendments to stop homosexuals, then logically Oliver Stone can be exonerated by calling those who refuse to see his PC sanctioned lie-fest as mere homophobes.

He [Farrell] said the "bond" in the homosexual scene could be "suggested in different ways".

Then Colin -- you'd better put some ice on it......er...or IN it.

Is it true that most of the Irish are catholic?

I mean, I read the news, and the connections to this movie and ...

maybe it is too much of a stretch ...

No, audiences, the small ones that did see it, were shocked at how lousy a movie Stone made!

Richard, you're a freeper? Well I'll be darned. Is it more polite to refer to you as a homo, queeb, or a poofer?

it is an old rumor. Probably supported by his somewhat absent coverate of the homosexual marriage debate and putting in a totally discredited story that prohibing civil unions would affect hetersexual couples that just live together.

(I would wonder about the producer of his show just as much as him)

I think Brit Hume is exec producer of Fox News. He strikes me as a pretty conservative guy. But I do think spending your career in the East coast media establishment will expose you (no pun intended) to hundreds of poofers every day.

I guess that would be $300 million pounds at a 1:1 1/2 ratio. That still a huge bath.

You should be eager to travel abroad with me because you would actually MAKE money!

Putting lipstick on a pig still results in a pig.

What if you put a brown wig on her and teach her to sing "Blue Bayou"?

Isn't this like a comic explaining a bad joke to his audience? You know you choked, so why even bother?

I would change the wig color to black, name her "Linda" and boycott the pigs concerts.
