I'm no Auburn fan, and loved the fact that they couldn't play for the mythical nat'l title while on probation. But let's be honest both Alabama and Auburn have a long, long sordid history of being 2 of the dirtiest programs in college football. (Along with Tennessee, which somehow has pretty much gotten a pass...)
The SEC dirty? They are virgin-pure compared to the old SWC. At one point most of the Conference was on probation, SMU got the death penalty, and the Governor of Texas was caught authorizing payments to college players. When it comes to corruption in college football, everything is truly bigger in Texas.
