Looks like USC will be rolling in National Championship glory.

"USC is gonna get rolled." Famous last words.
To: Diverdogz
"If USC or Oklahoma, take yer pick, blows the other one away, there will be no dispute. But if the game ends up like tonight's game......let the second guessing begin." "If" is an awfully big word.
You were right about one thing. There will be no dispute.

"I'd rank USC #1 right now, but there is no way to definitively know if they are the best without a playoff." In theory, you are right. But I don't think Auburn could have put a lick on Oklahoma the way USC has.

Leinart is showing why he deserved the Heismann and is putting on a clinic for Jason White, who looks clueless.
I expected USC to win, but I never expected this.

"A lot of last minute money went to OK." A lot of money lost on Oklahoma.
To: dwills
As of right now, it is SC 48-10. Well, I guess that settles that.

The only reason there was a split "National Championship" last year was the voting rule in the Coaches Poll - and even then several coaches broke ranks and refused to place LSU over USC.

"There is doubt in many minds about the University of Spoiled Children" Now that the game is over (although it was "over" by halftime), is there any doubt now?
To: capitan_refugio
None, USC has the best football team and cheerleaders.

I agree about both points ... I mean on both points (I was looking at an SC cheerleader).

One thing we know for sure....
The Big 12 is overrated.
OU HAD NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE NATIONAL TITLE GAME.
OU HAS NO DEFENSE.
USC WOULD HAVE NEVER DONE THAT TO AUBURN'S DEFENSE.
OU is ZERO U.
2nd Year in a row...that OU was in a Title game that they had no business being in.
The one National Title game that Stoops won....OU did not play the team that should have been there...MIAMI. And Miami would have beaten OU that year.
IT should have been USC v Auburn in the Orange Bowl.
The BCS is a joke.

USC Fall 2005 Schedule
Sept. 3 at Hawaii
Sept. 10 TBA
Sept. 17 Arkansas
Sept. 24 at Oregon
Oct. 1 at Arizona State
Oct. 8 Arizona
Oct. 15 at Notre Dame
Oct. 22 at Washington
Oct. 29 Washington State
Nov. 5 Stanford
Nov. 12 at California
Dec. 3 UCLA
It is going to be interesting to see who is going to be willing to play against USC in their home opener (September 10).
I don't see a Pac-10 game scheduled with Oregon State, but usually they only play eight conference games. That means a non-conference opponent. They already have scheduled @Hawaii, Arkansas, and @Notre Dame. I wonder what Utah is doing?
To: Utah Girl
Well, I see it this way...I'm a proud graduate of the REAL NCAA college football champions. The James Madison University Dukes, who beat Montana to win the Division I-AA championship...in a
playoff. They played four games (gasp!), all of them on the road (horror!), and won them all (shock!). No bogus rankings, no arguments about strength of schedule. They went into three consecutive games on their opponents' turf, beat them down,
earned the right to play in Chattanooga for the championship, and beat a powerful Montana team in an upset.
If a sixteen-team, four-week playoff is good enough for the student-athletes in Divisions I-AA, II, and III, it's damn well good enough for the prima donnas in I-A. I don't want to hear some self-righteous college president or overpaid coach bleating about "the disruption to the exam schedule of our athletes" when the kids at the lower levels have to get their exam schedules disrupted just as much. And unlike the I-A players, very few of them are going to make it at the next level professionally playing football...they need that education.

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas. So true
But at least, we know know who the real national champ is. USC left no doubt about that. USC even played its seniors and second string in the last half of the second quarter.
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't this the highest score SC had all year? Probably because they put in the second string so late. They usually do that at the end of the 3rd or beginning of the 4th when they are way ahead.
