Nothing smells better than fresh baled hay, IMO.

I won't feed moldy hay or hay that is stored outside, except for tightly baled round bales. My round bale man brings me these huge, tightly baled bales that you can't even stick a finger in, it's baled so tight. They weigh about 1200 pounds each so you have to have a good sized tractor to move them around.

One time I bought square bales from the most popular feed store in this area and I found dried horse poop in it. I was so mad I could hardly see. You can sure spread disease that way.

DJ and I bought 3 round bales and put them on our trailer, we got the first two off by hand (and feet pushing) but the last one was impossible.we just left the trailer and hay in the field : )
