Something to think about. Do yall have a law regarding it being a inherent dangerous sport and that equine establishments are exempt from liability. I don't know if it has any teeth but this law posted all over the place.

I'll talk to the owner tomorrow but I got the feeling she was thinking boarders and her place right now.

I don't know if they have those sort of laws. I know at Bixby we had signs posted all over about Not being responsible for injuries or stolen stuff. But that doesn't necessarily keep people from sueing.

We had a bull rider get killed in the bucking shoots once at a rodeo. At rodeos with rough stock you are required to have an ambulance on the scene. We did. The familiy of the kid still tried sueing, saying that the paramedics there didn't do what they should, didn't have the proper equipment. The fact is tho, there was nothing they could have done, even if they had had a whole trauma team there. Only God could have fixed that boy. I mean his brains were all over the shoot.

People now a days just want to sue. That is alot of reason why around here anyway, that alot of organizations either go under or don't even get off the ground. Too scared to have events, and can't afford the insurance.

I don't mean to rain on your parade really. I think those groups are alot of fun. And wish it wasn't like that. But there it is.

This law definately has teeth, and is what protects establishments from liability. It would also be a good idea to have your riders sign release forms with the law stated on it as it applies to the state that you're in. That WILL protect you.
