Well, the thing is... we need the truck too. I just have a small pickup. We'll be trading ecurbh's car in on a truck which will be much more than the couple thousand dollars for a serviceable trailer. ;~D

I need a slant load or a stock trailer, Bay won't fit in any of the older straight loads, and I'd really like a three horse. Just for extra room.

I found one in the paper for 100 dollars. You had to bring tires and be prepared for a lot of TLC though. They go low at auctions around Houston too. The sellers never get their minimal asking price but often will just let someone on the parking lot have it at a lower price to keep from hauling it back. Now a bad time to buy around here though. Until the stocks shows over in Feb.

Check on the prices then for aluminum trailers (they are much lighter) and on goosenecks (which pull much better). We have a four horse slant load enclosed trailer. It's nice because if push comes to shove, we can trailer four horses. Most of the time, we have at least one divider out so that it's easier to trailer with saddles on or trailer moms and babies.

Our's isn't aluminum so it takes a heavy duty truck to pull it and uses more diesel.
