A "normal" person would have just come and told you one of your horses were down. What did animal control do?
I didn't realize there was a "Saddle Club" I wish I could remember how to post pictures, I have a Paint that aint, breedstock gelding named Willy, we explore the Cascade and Olympic Mountains and we are members of BCH .
I belonged to PETA for a short time, back in my peacenik days, until I realized they're a little fanatic. I was willing to give this lady a chance, but obviously not any more.
Hair started it for us awhile back. Paints are my favorite:') Do you have a host? We can talk you thru posting. I would love to see your horses. Welcome.
Wait! Returned with them? They took your horses?
Ok, you mean she returned with animal control. I would have refused to let her on my property. I have always been a supporter of animals being treated humanely but they aren't humans and don't have rights. My son was a member for awhile and I used to get crazy stuff in the mail for him.
No, never. My horses lay flat out prone in the sun all the time, next to a busy road. ~Chuckling~
Welcome to the saddle club thread!
What I can tell you is that the PETA woman would not have liked me very much. Chances are, in fact, she would have hated me before it was all over.
You sound like me lol. We don't really have a problem here. When I took my granddaughter to the zoo in Jacksonville I had my first encounter with one. The woman was nuts. She kept running from cage to cage and making a scene. My son dragged me off. I got into it with her when she started yelling at one of the people in my group:')
As for posting pictures, we have stock instructions all written up!
The pictures have to be online someplace. There are free places to load pictures, and www.snapfish.com and www.yorkphoto.com both work really well, and have an easy interface for loading pictures. They are free for a year, and they only want you to buy something once in awhile to keep your account, like prints or a mousepad with your photo on it. They have cool stuff to buy, but you can worry about that later.
Anyway.... upload the pics there, and when they are uploaded, right click the pic and view the "Properties" of the pic. Right click on the web address 'url' for the pic, 'select all' and then 'copy'. Then paste that code (all of it, they can be long) into this 'image source' html code:
<img src="http:\\url here">
The code to post one of my earlier photos:
If you were to right click the pic above, the properties of the pic are all this gibberish: http://images.snapfish.com/33%3B8748323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2329%3D%3A3%3A%3D768%3DXROQDF%3E23235%3C5996677ot1lsi
when you type the img src code, it looks like this:
<img src="http://images.snapfish.com/33%3B8748323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2329%3D%3A3%3A%3D768%3DXROQDF%3E23235%3C5996677ot1lsi">
It sounds complicated, but take it step by step and it really isn't.
Welcome to the thread!
I have some very interesting questions that I want someone from PETA to answer. For instance, if we all stop wearing leather, drinking milk, and eating beef, what happens to all the cows? What happens to all the chickens when we stop eating eggs and chicken? They just hate logic.
Stock instructions:') Good idea.
No, they didn't take any horses. The PETA lady left to meet the animal control guy. Our barn is in the middle of nowhere, and she probably was unable to give directions in coherent (sp?) english. ;-P
Did she say anything while there or act funny? Did she say was a Peta?
I am the barn manager at a therapy riding center, and our horses winter at this other barn, since we close for the winter season. We used to be open year-round, but we lost funding and our Board decided to only keep the center open May - September yearly.
That's good. $55 for a shoeing - I pay $75 AWWWWWKKKKKK 'course that is the going rate or just a little under out here.
Hi and welcome :)
Becky
