Actually, I don't care for his brother. He's alot taller, and very lanky. Celia likes them that way. I like them short and wider. Even Harley is a bit tall for my taste. But he's built better then Sky. I'm not sure what it is exactly that I don't like about Sky, but IMO, he doesn't hold a candle to Okie. (and I'm not just saying that:)

Excellent pictures! All of them! Great shot of the roll-back too!
Boy he sure is light in winter coat, compared to this summer.
:') Great pictures. Want to explain a roll back to me?
Yeah, he really loses that gold tint. This is about he way he looked when I bought him. Poor boy. He is really out of shape. I trail rode about an hour before the arena work. He was puffing when we got done.
I hope to ride both him and Rusty tomorrow, the shop is just going to have to wait:). I'll try to get Mack to take pictures of Rusty too.
Becky
Looks like you guys were enjoying yourselves there. More pictures are okay :)
Well some one else might do it better, but it's a turn where they more or less plant one hind foot and pivot around. He can do them better then I can make him do it but "I'm" making progress. Kristy can make him literally pick up his front end and swing around. But the cross over in the picture is good.

It was fun. Don't know why I thought I was getting burned out on horses. Must have been winter doldrums.
Becky
It's a barrel turn?
Ok I promise I'm done:)
Becky
No, it's really more a reining move, but it's good to do, helps them learn to get there butts under them.
Becky
You know me, I love pictures. I think it's just the winter, not the horses that you're getting burned out on.
I spent a good part of the afternoon getting my calendar marked for foaling, horse shows and endurance rides, figuring out what and when I could fit things in. I am SO ready for spring.
I like the way he's doing it... You're giving a fair input, and he's bending and giving to it. He's supple and willing. As a dressage gymnastic excercise, he'd be doing well. You could crank him around faster, but he'd probably just get sitffer and open his mouth.
How many foals are you expecting?
The competitive trail ride I want to take Harley too is in May. Memorial weekend. I need to start getting him in better shape. Me too:)
Becky
I was looking at my hands, (one reason I hate pictures of me, you see your mistakes, but then you learn). My outside rein is pulled to tight, and a little high.
Becky
We love pictures, post them all!
Catch yall later. taking the yahoos to church.
You just look like you are trying to 'help help along' with body language. ;~D We all do that
Well you know, talking of high hands. There was something in that program I wasn't sure was right. She said, and this part is OK, that for the slow training work she uses split reins. Barrel reins too short. I agree. But she also said that with split reins you "could" get your hands up higher??? I thought if you got your hands up as high as she was showing you lose some of the action of your bit. Now for a run, she said keep your hands down in front of the swells, almost resting on their withers.

I'm hoping, God willing on four. A possible fifth would be a miracle. The vet said she wasn't pregnant but she sure is beginning to look it.
Where is the ride and how long is it? By the way, can you explain more about it? I know in endurance riding, you are judged on time and condition - this seems to be judged differently.
I wasn't being a wimp or a crybaby - it was an awful storm.

"A combination of two storms of this magnitude hasn't occurred in the city of Reno since 1916," National Weather Service forecaster Shane Snyder said.
Major highways across the Sierra between Reno and Sacramento, Calif., were closed for part of Saturday and the heavy snowfall also delayed Amtrak trains through the mountains.
"There was just too much snow on the tracks," said Amtrak spokesman Mark Magliari.
