This is an impressive design. I'm going to think on it awhile and come back with questions.
If you are going to be having camps you might want to think about a "classroom/lounge" area too. The owner here has a trailer for this. We also have a place where we can leave our trailers.
Hi,
I don't know anything about adopting them, but I think someone here does. What is your experience level, how old is your daughter, how much room do you have? :)
You may be looking at adopting a horse with physical problems which would make riding difficult. I'd be really interested in hearing what you find out.
Course if you really want to get fancy, you can use two lines and a circingle, but still would only do this with a snaffle bridle. ;~D
Please do!
No - no problem. Are you free lunging or do you have a halter over the bridle to attach the lunge line to? And if you don't have a single rein, tie them up so they don't fall down and get stepped on.
I hadn't thought about a class or lounge area, worth considering! And yes, definately trailer parking goes with the territory. Do you pay for that?
No, we haven't started looking at property really, or even settled on an exact area, though I think it will be in this region. I am a few years out from the $$$ that can get this ball rolling.
Your critters are darling. I have 3 dwarf nigerian goats that we raised on a bottle. Sweetest things in the world. They live with my 4 miniature horses and Charlee the Donkey.
The rooster appears to be ok but he stayed clear of me today. Cindy's right, if he does that again, he's coyote bait! I have a goose that attacks me but all he does is bite your legs so I don't really worry about him. The rooster has those big ol' spurs and I'm afraid he'll do me some damage.
So what was the cat doing in there?
Looking for a fresh chicken dinner, probably.
I don't think so but I've seen that more than a time or two. Run into it a lot with rescues.
Frog in a Blender is in Alabama.
:) I'm surprised the chickens weren't thinking about cat for dinner.
Those chickens can be really evil, that's for sure. Every now and then a mouse will get in their coop and they go bananas. They'll rip each others feathers out for that mouse.
I think both Inge Cav and Froginablender are in Alabama.
No. I still keep the halter on. I don't need to but I'm supposed to have her secure at all times in the barn and it's a pain to tie the halter around her neck, take the briddle off and put it back on. I don't use it with lunging. I attatch to the halter. I have the reins knotted and loose on her neck. I just didn't know if pulling the halter could somehow put tension on the briddle, then reins or the loose reins giving false cues.. I have also been leaving the stirrups down.
No the parking free. Maybe you do design in sections so you could get started and expand as you can afford it. That's what we plan on doing. We don't want to go into debt anymore than we have to so property first, then fences. Next a mobile home for someone to watch the place, which will probably be my son right now and then a livable barn until we can build a house. We will be renting ours out to pay for the new place.
Good to have free parking, I just wondered how they worked it.
What happened to my Alabama? :') (yeah I know:')
Okay, first question - what is the dimensions of the stalls and tack rooms?
