I have been using bigzoo.com for several years for long distance. Their rates (.039 per minute) have been great, but as you may know, they are closing on January 31. What alternatives can I consider? What has been your experience? Thanks.
I never heard of Bigzoo, but Sam's Club is less than their rate, so you may want to check it out.
Costco has MCI calling cards (probably Sams does too) for about 2.8 cents per minute. If you have DSL or Cable, check out Vonage.com .
I've been wondering the same thing. Bigzoo has been great. I'm glad you started this thread.
Yes I know, I'm such a nice person LOL...
I did a google search and found this site:
http://www.idphonecard.com/
I don't know anything about it, but maybe it's worth checking out.
I'm looking at www.Access4Less.net for internet service as a cheap backup...$4.95/month.
I have been using ID Phonecard. The issues I have though are the following:
- no relationship between personal phone number and PIN--they're completely different. With Bigzoo, the PIN was your own phone number plus an additional four digits
- no apparent way of doing a "next number dial" without reentering PIN.
How does onesuite work in this regard?
ZipDial
It's a hassle to have to enter your PIN every time you want to place a long-distance call. But with ZipDial, you don't have to. Just take a moment to register up to three ZipDial numbers quickly and easily online. They could be your home phone, your business phone, your cell phone--any phone you make long-distance calls from. Then the next time you use OneSuite from one of these registered phones, our system will automatically recognize your account and let you place your call without prompting you to enter your PIN. ZipDial works whether you use our local or toll-free access numbers, and ZipDial will work even if your phone has caller-ID blocking activated.
RapiDial
Store up to 50 telephone numbers online in a customizable, printable phone book that lets you assign each number a name and a two-digit code between 10 and 60. The next time you dial into our system and want to place a call to one of those numbers, just dial the two digits, when our system prompts you to 'enter the phone number you wish to reach', and you will be connected. Works great for an international call's longer number string and for placing calls from cell phones. Along with ZipDial and QuikConnect, it makes calling through OneSuite faster than ever!
Thanks...Does OneSuite offer "next number dial"... that is, the ability to dial a subsequent phone number without reentering a pIN. Thanks.
I also have my phone programmed to call OneSuite when I press dial+1.
I used BigZoo for years and I was so upset to find out they were going out of business. But I found this GREAT site searching through google. I don't know about you guys but it's been hard to find a different company. Well this company, PinPlan.com, is a lot like BigZoo. They have the whole PinSkip option, there rates where great and they gave me FREE talk time. I was also amazed by there customer support center, can you believe it I actually got to talk to someone when I called. I highly recommend that you give it a try because it took be two months to find them and above all I AM HAPPY WITH THEM.
There site: http://www.pinplan.com/store/tmpl/products.aspx?body=sect_zoo&sec=rech
or you can go to www.pinplan.com
I am a bigzoo customer who lives out of the country in China and needs a service for calling back to the states. The companies some of you have mentioned require calling an 800 number, but I can't do that from here. Has anyone found anything like bigzoo.com for people out of the country?
Thanks,
Kairen
I was using bigzoo so far too
i switched to http://www.lotsofminutes.com and got good rates to india , france and thailand. 1 min rounding to call. within USA is 1.9cents
no monthly or other fees and $7.25 free on sign up. i found this through google and later found out it is quite popular in the indian community in usa especially in metros.
