i am sure that the chickens that Gabz buys have been fed other than organic feed and might lead to premature puberty in your children due to the steroids.....no self respecting FEWFC would dare take that chance....; )

i just got off the phone with xshub about one of the Christmas cards we got today. his friends not mine, actually the guy used to work for xshub on the judiciary committee, he is a fine upstanding conservative, clerked for the 8th Cir out there in MN etc. He is married to a liberal, so right away i have lost tremendous respect for him, and secondly, she uses her own name. so we get this her last name/his last name return address, which just incenses me. it makes me want to address their card Mr and Mrs. his first and last name! and i want to find some way to refer to her as the LITTLE LADY in the text! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sorry I'm late, but I was really busy at work today-

The officious UN is prattling again-
Says the US is stingy with their cash
Along with Britain and a few other countries
That they particularly like to bash

If they had half a brain they'd wisely refrain
From making remarks of that kind
Since that's not the case, it is obvious
That they are out of their collective mind

Why don't they just regain everyone's trust
By not being so obnoxious and so rude
And send all the tsunami victims the billions
They skimmed off of Oil for Food

Nothing personal, my FRiend, but they wouldn't last a week in my house.

Growing up I remember only 1 time something different was prepared for me for dinner. I have always disliked beef liver, but had no choice if that was what was for dinner. My grandfather despised it also and so my grandmother never cooked, although she loved it. she flew up to NY for Christmas and my grandfather and aunt followed a few days later after driving up from Florida.

She wanted liver for dinner, but knowing I din't like it went to the trouble of fixing ham for me, so she could enjoy her liver!

I would never force anyone to eat something they truly did not like, but it's amazing how many things you find out you really do like, if you are at least willing to try it once.

i think you would be surprised, they do eat a wide variety of different things. chicken on the bone is hardly the end all and be all of cuisine, they eat chinese, italian and mexican, which is light years better than their father. i do not consider them picky eaters at all.

"LITTLE LADY"

Write them a note thanking him and his war department for the nice card-that should do it-even I hate to be referred to by my hubby (or anyone else's) as "the war department"...

I haven't found a place around here yet. But I used to go to a small market outside Dover that for between $9 and $11 I could buy a 40 pound case of chicken leg quarters. But I do get either Tyson or Perdue leg quarters in 10 pound bags at 39 cents a pound on a regular basis. When they go on sale I usually grab 4 or 5 bags. And then just package them up and freeze them.

I like liver, but hubby hates it-so it never gets fixed here.

Speaking of food, I've got to go put the ribs on the grill and fix the potatoes and spinach-back later...

Good idea. Which reminds me, I have to buy a cow. You know, the free-range, grass-fed, steriod-free kind.

Black angus beef. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I love oven stuffers. I do not buy whole chickens to cut up - I buy parts. I understand paying for convenience, especially with boneless breast.

I like the versatility of the parts, and I prefer dark meat chicken any way. I've been buying the cases of chicken legs for nearly 20 years, I've got packaging and freezing them down to a science. I was first attracted to it because of price, but then I realized that the chicken I was buying was close to 2 weeks fresher than what I would find in the supermarket. There is a HUGE difference in the taste.

there is just no way i am going to buy anything in bulk, i don't have the time or the inclination to mess with it, being cow or chicken. besides, xshub would NEVER go for having a full blown freezer in the house : )

gabz, it is nothing at all about the chicken you buy. he is an earthwatching Falls Churcher who buys steroid free beef fed only organic and pesticide free grains... he is concerned that his children may experience premature puberty. I have no problem with the chicken you buy, as you have pointed out it is probably 2 weeks fresher than what i get!
