Is it ok to feed my cats raw bacon?
Posted on 12/24/2004 11:51:13 AM PST by little bus
One day, my cats were hungry and I didn't have anything in the house to feed them except raw bacon. They loved it! I continued to give them raw bacon each day and now it's their favorite food (they won't eat raw sausage, though). In fact, now they don't want anything else. I've tried different foods on them - vienna sausage, potted meat, canned mackerel, etc., but they want their bacon. Someone told me this might not be good for the cats, but they seem healthy. What do you think? I see cats on this sight sometimes when I surf, so maybe you know something here.

My two cats love chili, of course, it's cooked. I never feed them raw meat. I'm afraid they might chew my toes off in the middle of the night!

LOL - now the rest of the folks in the call center are doing prairie dog impressions trying to see what I was laughing about.
You like Gord's Gold too? Great - I'm not alone!

We feed our dogs BARF... which means bones and raw food. They thrive and have wonderful clean teeth and fresh breath. Their poops are small and break down in the backyard quickly.
I looked into BARF for cats. They require some weird additive (it's probably in raw mouse guts which is not easily available in stores) so I got some of the suppliment and tried mixing it with ground liver, gizzards, etc. They hated it. They much prefered the IAMS dry cat food.

That isn't even my cat; he lives down the street, so I hope if he ever manages to get a squirrel he drags it off into his own yard for the owner to clean up.
The squirrel in the picture slipped down the other side of the tree and got away.

Dunno, but if you douse them in gasoline, and then drop a match on them, they will go "woof!". Neat, huh?

You may want to check the sign up date before making any assumptions about afellow FReeper. Back in the good old days when we walked to our computers in 10 foot drifts in the snow, uphill, both ways and logged on with our acoustic couplers we had no such thing as HTML tags.

Is "little bus" anything like "short bus"?

Question? How much weed would someone have to smoke before they decided it is *Cool* to attach a small bus on top of a larger bus?
Just curious......

I wore out 3 or 4 albums, a couple of cassettes and I am now stress testing a CD.
