Speaking of Birthdays, you can't fight it, I've tried.

Can't forget your other card, lol

Happy Birthday, Woliff. Hope you have some good plans for the day.;)

Mornin' y'all. Where the heck has everybody been? I'm starting to think that Darks has been up to some kind of mischief or other...and BQ has gone missing as well. Hmmmm... yeah, I know she said something about San Francisco, but it was probably just a diversion. I expect they're conspiring in Nully's basement. She WAS unnaturally curious about it.

Neat work gran really like the velet & suade look, and those rustic colors, but afraid to ask what is that orangish thing!

Hope you have good plans for the day

Thank you for a great card gran. I will make sure I keep the years at bay by thinking of the other card. lol

Yes, I have have great plans for today - I am freeloading.

A Parador
The Hotel of the Catholic Kings

This is where the where I was invited for my birthday lunch in Santiago today.

A Spanish lunch is actually dinner, as the main meal of the day in this part of Spain is from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. The last meal of the day does not start until 10pm.

The photograph was taken at dusk, without a flash, so that gives a red glow to the building.

The Hostal de los Reyes Catolicos (The Hotel of the Catholic Kings,) is a Parador, which are Spain's Government owned chain of hotels, usually found in historical buildings, like palaces and castles. They are absolutely first class in every respect. No one but a government could afford the upkeep.

My daughter, with her American friend, stayed in a Parador in Biona, which is at the center of a large castle overlooking a magnificent bay, whose perimeter is about a mile in length. They were very impressed with the magnificence of the place, especially with the size of the bathrooms. They claimed they could live in them.

This was the castle where the Pinta made land fall bringing the news of the discovery of the new lands.
