FireFox Burns Internet Explorer’s Market Share
An extended explanation on why Internet Explorer is insecure

How Spyware Took The Next-Gen Threat Crown (On The Internet's No #1 Threat Today MUST READ!!!) -- My own opinion is that anything that takes over your private computer without your informed consent should be illegal and that anyone distributing such programs and those paying to have it distributed (the engine that drives this train) should be held criminally responsible. A politician who would undertake such legislation would have an instantaneous, nation-wide following... a political hero (are you listening out there?)

Browser Wars -- Broadband Firefox users should try ForecastFox 0.5.8. It will put the Weather Channel forecast of your choice in the taskbar. Completely customizeable (I selected the three-day, day-and-night forecast for my ZIP) and totally cool.

Microsoft writes a law for Oklahoma to invade your computer.--What the heck...the "government" is engaged, as we speak, in destroying our entire country by allowing immigrant criminals to invade without firing a shot. Microsoft and other software makers erasing pirated software from our hard drives is down in the grass compared to the illegal hordes.

I'm running Spy Sweeper and Firefox.

Spy Sweeper is a bit of a resource hog - right now it is occupying 40 MBytes of my RAM. I use it on systems where I am more concerned with security than maximum performance. My PC that has my financials runs Spy Sweeper. My gaming PC's do not run Spy Sweeper.

Spy Sweeper has specific hooks that it can put in Internet Explorer to protect against having your Home Page, Search Page or Favorites modified without your consent. It does not have similar hooks for Firefox. But (a) these hooks are only a small part of the value of Spy Sweeper, and (b) so far I've never seen a need for such protection hooks in Firefox.

You won't need a new Spy Sweeper license, and your security will increase even more by switching to Firefox. Go for it.
