The Beatles are responsible for some of the stupidest lyrics ever written. Furthermore, Paul McCartney's Christmas songs are dumb...pure dumb. I thought they were so great the first time I heard them. But, like musical Chinese food, they were not filling. The more I listened to them, the more insipid they seemed. Now I turn off the radio if one of his Christmas songs comes on. Lyrics are poetry---and some many first-graders have written better songs about Christmas than he has. On the other hand, he would have been great in advertising.

His one-liners (the extent of the words in his works) would be great in 20-second soundbytes.

pretty much any body's Christmas songs are dumb. How many times can jingle bells be redone. don't care who does it. (okay the symphony with the electric guitar stuff is pretty good :) i don't remember their name though) but whether or not it's whitney houson, jessica simpson, john lenon, roger daultry, whomever. one can only take so many different versions of silent night
