pretty much any body's Christmas songs are dumb. How many times can jingle bells be redone. don't care who does it. (okay the symphony with the electric guitar stuff is pretty good :) i don't remember their name though) but whether or not it's whitney houson, jessica simpson, john lenon, roger daultry, whomever. one can only take so many different versions of silent night

True, Little Drummer Boy would be a great song for someone learning English as a second language. Not awhole lotta challenge there. But, The Night Before Christmas sung is fabulous--a story plus musical twists and turns make it operatic. Un Flambeau Jeanette Isabella (ok, it's French....but, after all, it's Christmas) is also an interesting story. Grandma Got Runover has a plotline, as does I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.

I've got a David Grisman Christmas CD that never is dumb. Same with the Mike Marshall one.

OK, they're both mandolin players.
