Any word update on the doggies? Do you expect to hear from them again?

In theory she's going to send me digital photos from time to time. I haven't heard from them since my last call, though.

I think I'm feeling OK about it now. I have to admit it's been much easier doing all the house prep without them. They aren't the...calmest dogs in the world.

I think they'll be fine. I do hope I hear from them occasionally, though!

Good morning!

Well, I went to the hardware store last night and talked to one of the people I actually trust, and described my predicament, complete with showing how wide the crack was. He said it didn't sound like a big deal and to just use spackle. I asked about joint compound, and he said you COULD use that, but since we were talking very tiny cracks, it wasn't really necessary and joint compound is harder to handle and takes longer to dry than spackle. He also said the caulk wasn't a great idea because it isn't sandable, and though you can smooth it with a finger, it's tough to get to the same level as sanding allows. So...I bought more spackle to be sure I had enough and patched the corners last night. Seems to be fine. Disaster averted! Also spackled over all the nails in the paneling, all scrapes, all nail holes, etc. etc. We all worked on it for awhile last night...I think we pretty much finished! So...for today, we might get sanding done before music night and wipe everything down, and tomorrow I can start with the sealant and then paint by the weekend. Whew. I'll be so happy when this is all done!

Ya know...it don't seem fair that Bakshi (*shudder*) would be allowed and anime wouldn't....or was that just a joke? I know rulez is rulez...I just don't unnerstand that one.

I need a new book. Finished Collie Willis' Bellwether. Hm...may be time for more Alistair MacLean.

It's starting out above zero today, which is nice. Supposed to get up to 10. Heh.
