mmmm...steakhouse!

I wondered what it was because over in Worcester last year they had a "Taste of Shrewsbury Street" event. Shrewsbury Street is the old 'Italian area' of town, and there are a lot of restaurants along the street. At this event, you could go to each participating restaurant and get a little bit of some of their specialities. I won two 'buttons', the entry ticket for it, in a local radio contest. I was so excited when I told SSQ, then he reminded me he was going to be out of town that day!

I asked a homeschool mom friend of mine if she wanted to go, and she and I had a great time! Unfortunately, she's a vegan, so she didn't have too many choices because if something was considered vegetarian, it still had cheese in it! The best stop was the last one. It was an Indian Restaurant, and instead of having a couple of steam tables set up, the owner had folks order anything from the menu and you got a small portion of it. I ordered something she liked so she could have BOTH portions. I felt bad for her, that she had not been able to sample too many things along the way, but she said she really enjoyed it because she got to have some sushi and Indian food; odd things to find in a mostly Italian area!

Good morning! Man...these weekends without a computer are rough...can't wait until THAT'S over.

We did a lot of work on the office this weekend, but STILL haven't gotten to the painting point. You have to realize that when we started this, there were fake wood panels on all the walls, so we had to take THOSE down, take down the wood they were mounted on, and THEN the walls had painted over wall paper on 'em - several layers. So mostly we've been scraping and scraping and sanding and scraping. Finally got down to spackling last night, but I'm not sure what I'm s'posed to put in the corners - what do you fill dry wall corners with? Some sort of caulking? There's nothing there now - the first layer was wall paper, so they never bothered with any kind of fill.

Tonight we may get as far as applying primer. And then...painting is the easy part! Whew!

Also took a massive load of stuff to the dump...old carpets and busted appliances and furniture I hadn't gotten around to getting rid of and that was just sitting in the basement. Ended up only costing me sixteen bucks, so I was happy. Excpected much, much more.

Snow, snow everywhere, and not a flake for us! *sigh* Well, actually we got a few inches, but only a few. Bummer. Of course, I do realize there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, but...

And it's currently -15
