Yeah, Austin is a special kind of place ... even I, a native San Antonian, must admit that.
A lot of people buy condos and houses for their kids, hen sell 'em. The market is pretty brisk, as I understand it.
We went outside and set off firecrackers to chase away the bad luck, and burned sparklers to shine in the New Year --- I fugure my bit's done. <grin>
I have to go to work tomorrow ... but then I'm off again till Tuesday. Gotta find a bowl of black-eyed peas, and I'll be good to go!
Happy New Year!
Hullo Rose! We went to bed early... Middle of the night we wake up to mayhem of Gidget barking hysterically... takes a minute to realize it's midnight and the neighbors are all shooting off fireworks! Went outside to check the horses, they were alert but quiet in the barn. The fireworks stopped by about 12:10, everyone settled down again. Stuff like that really messes with Gidget's head. FWIW, the Homer dog was calm about the fireworks, more anxious about Gidget.
