Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Evening G'nad - it's pretty easy for leg sinew, backstrap sinew is bit more difficult. What we're talking about with leg sinew is basically the long tendon on the back side of the lower leg, similar in location to our Achilles tendon. It comes out in a tube, 6-9 inches long, air dries to an amber color, stores indefinitely in a cookie tin. I'll bring some that I have dried and show you the fine art of pounding and shredding.

Evening OT : Just no blue corn or no Indian corn at all?
To: ExGeeEye
Evening EGE: "4-stompers" you mean 4 WD?
To: osagebowman
Oh they had Indian corn and bicolored corn, but none of the dwarf blue corn that I tried one year. It was a bad year for the garden...drought and when I had to start getting the house ready for the market. I think they sent out trial seed and evidently, it didn't do well because they're not offering it this year.

Wish I could. Problem is there's no clear path for them to fall. I need someone with insurance to take 'em down in sections.

I know just the outfit to handle it. Three brothers (Larry, Daryl, and Daryl) and an ax.
Gonna pop in a movie.

What does one do with blue corn? I have seen blue corn meal, but never canned blue corn or blue corn-on-the-cob.

Want to stop by to say a "hello".
Been out of "computer land". . . the reason. . .no computer, or house, or husband. Have all three now, so back in "computer land".
The computer died during our move into the apartment where we lived for the four months it took to build our new home. THEN. . .we moved into the house and my husband nearly went the way of my computer. He had to go in for emergency by-pass surgery. He is fine now and back to work. Still a bit weak. He was able to get my computer running this week so I have, for the first time in a long time, been able to post.
Hope everyone is well. Will try to catch up as time permits.

Happy re-rentry mstar!
Sounds like you're adventures are competing with the Stormhands clan. Glad your husband is doing well and I hope you're enjoying the new house.
We're much the same here. If you missed anything important, I'm sure we'll talk about it again.
